The blast/ Venom is a joke so close to being a good trail sled but yet so far....... my brother rode the Blast ZR he said the seat is rock hard . It’s tippy, the sled bounced all over the trail, there is no repeat NO adjustments on front springs so you can’t change anything to improve ride or handling. The switches to adjust the handwarmers and the Hilow beam are not on the handlebars so if this is for inexperienced riders do you really want them taking a hand off the bars ????? Weirdly the utility version has a nice soft seat ? Why is that not on the trail version along with a windshield ? Only 10” rear suspension travel .
The best thing about it ? The motor is fantastic pulled well considering it’s size
What’s interesting is that if Yamaha and Cat are supposed to have this collaboration one would think that the folks at Yamaha would explain to Cat why the Phazer was such a dismal failure. apparently that didn’t happen because everything that is wrong with the Phazer hard seat, no wind protection, tippy etc. are all the things that are wrong with the Blast , clearly no communication . The other possibility is the Yamaha/Cat is just simply clueless they don’t listen to or read about anyone’s complaints about a similar sled and therefore history repeats itself

You could probably make the venom better by going to the cat catalog and ordering a wider front end kit with real shocks and adjustable springs then buying the utility model seat and high windshield and a few other things. at that point you have a smaller sled that someone who doesn’t want to go real fast (Like my wife who is pretty small )would actually enjoy but it would cost you so much to build a good Venom might as well just buy a full-size sled .
I found the Blast to be way better handling than a Phazer. Your brother maybe isnt meant for one.The blast/ Venom is a joke so close to being a good trail sled but yet so far....... my brother rode the Blast ZR he said the seat is rock hard . Did I see a drain plug on the case as well. Can’t it’s not confirmed and I may be wrong. Those pics are a 2021 Cat. Chaincase is changed just like Jared said.
I had to do all that to Phazer and much more and it still did not handle near as well as the Blast I rode. I wont be buying it for trail anyway though. Like I said previously if Blast/Venom had a Phazer motor with the handling of this single 2st I would buy 3. Have you priced NEW 2021 sleds recently? You could probably make the venom better by going to the cat catalog and ordering a wider front end kit with real shocks and adjustable springs then buying the utility model seat and high windshield and a few other things. at that point you have a smaller sled that someone who doesn’t want to go real fast (Like my wife who is pretty small )would actually enjoy but it would cost you so much to build a good Venom might as well just buy a full-size sled .
I did not see one but I am sure a vac and a tube and you could fill and drain through the plug for oil level.Did I see a drain plug on the case as well.
