I thought they had already done that on this clutch compared to the clutch it replaced(apex). You can machine faces a little bit to get that extra OD. So it closes more.

I don't know....it shifts and downshifts nice and smooth, and goes like hell stock...lol!Is it spring bind that’s stopping the belt? Mine is the same way. Just never get’s to the top of the clutch.

I know, but mine has a big black band right there... I have to assume it’s holding me back from even better belt life lol

Mmh that kinda sucks. So is there overdrive on this clutch or not? It almost looks like there is not much overdrive going on.
I’m gonna be honest usually I would have tested/researched this stuff a bit more. But this sled I left alone for the most part.
Yamaha has been doing this for years...no overdrive. To be honest not sure it's really needed. It does save from the belt climbing over the top. The belt normally climbs to about 1/4" below the top edge of the sheaves. If you machine for overdrive the back clutch has to be done too, usually with the helix cam. Then you need to drop a bit on your gearing for the overdrive to have an impact. I have done it to a couple sleds, my machinist at work does it all the time to his sleds.
I know Olav Aaen has never been a big fan of it though, what he said at one of his clutch clinics I went to years ago.
