I got 2000 miles on my 18 LTX and my friend has 2500 miles with some boosted with no problems at all. Clutches are not hot unless i'm on and off throttle a lot. Last Yami I had was a 1981 SRX and been on cats for 20 years . Was the main reason I bought a Yami was because cat had such bad luck with clutches and $200.00 belts. Thanks guys, now I'm worried about it!

Yep, Cat clutches have been junk for years while Yamaha clutches had always been known to be reliable and easy on belts. Things change huh?

changes when power goes up....both yam belts are designed for under 150 h.p. ...at 200 you are borderline...at 250 IMHO you are outside the envelope..I got 2000 miles on my 18 LTX and my friend has 2500 miles with some boosted with no problems at all.
