Completely stock 18 xtx 137" blew belt 8jp 2 weeks ago in Moosehead with 420 mi. on it. Got about 500 mi. now on cheapo gates 8dn equivalent had to add a couple washers to get belt back up in secondary but that's the only thing I changed.

3600 kms on Ultimax xs825 running 240/270/290 Hurricane 21/41 gear lots of high speed runs. The last 1500 kms with 22/41 The last 2 rides Been very hard on it using 290 hp trying to break and still looks mint. I’m convinced with my setup is good.

My riding buddy with the 850 Backcountry was sure he would win a drag race with the Winder. LOL Zip codes different. I sent him a post card. "Whoa I really underestimated that sled."

Yep, the lowered offset and Ultimax works amazing for me too....I believe it is the belt mostly and offset for me.
I also run a lower helix this season(37/35) so less slippage. 39/35 was good too but this yr is best for clean sheaves,no slip.
I through so many diff secondary spring setups at this sled this season, went from cold to HOT, and still didnt hurt the belt. But b/o at 6/2 is overall best for TRAIL riding hard. The heavier springs and wraps just made more heat, they did not help my engine braking much at all which was my goal, as I believe the EBRS kicks in to overcome anything i do in the secondary.
DTYA-1@ 77.3g, TP Rollers up front, and HT rollers in secondary make for smooth action and bushings all look good on the TP at 6000kms now. Now with 3500kms on the belt(this seasons mileage so far) looks great and has ZERO belt dust, so Ill never run any other belt.
I also run the red primary spring up front(less then most here).
58mm offset with a custom washer to allow only 1mm of float with my BOP adjuster. Also added new grease to the secondary shaft mid season and it sure goes a long way to allowing float action on stand. Gets all that rust off shaft.

That is impressive with that junk stock belt for sure! Wonderful!
Why do you call the 8JP junk? Lol
I get great performance, good life for not a lot of doh ! Like 75% of the cheapest aftermarket around.
Actually never had any issues with any Mitsuboshi built belt, hell even BRP belts were warrantied when they got em made in Japan.

I have a total of 1950 miles on the ultramax. Running Hurricane 225-240-270. 37/35 helix dalton blk/org. Belt still looks good. I thought I was getting a bunch of belt dust but it ended up being brake dust. This is all after setting offset with the hurricane tool. If you go by the speedo I have over 4000 miles nut 2000 of them are from a speed sensor failure in the middle of a saddle bag trip. 261mph for 2 days straight.

What wrap do you have your BO at? What offset?
Thanks!

I don't remember for sure. Whatever the instructions said and I bought it this winter. I wanna say 6-1 or 6-2.
Didn't measure the offset other than using the hurricane alignment tool. my clutches are never too hot to touch. In the past there was enough heat inside the cover to crack all the graphics. I did add a piece of drier exhaust hose and ran it from the front vent down into the area of the primary to increase cooling.
