My XTX's came with them. I have replaced upper gear with new ones as maintenance from Arctic cat. They are about $20 less than Yamaha around here.

I kept reading that you could get the gears and chain for under $200. bd extreme has them but they are for an arctic cat 2 stroke, not sure those will work.

The 2-stroke gears will not work.
When the Viper gears first came out, they were cheap, like $30 for a top gear, but now Yamaha is over $100 for just the top gear.
I have brand new OEM Yamaha 21, 41, and 86 link chain on hand and sell the combination for $399.95.
Current Yamaha pricing (backordered until June too)
21 top $109.95
41 bottom $135.99
86 link chain $174.99
These prices did not used to be this severe.

Thanks for answering my question. Just got to decide if that’s the route I’m gonna take. I have an ltx and from what I’ve been reading it sounds like a win winThe 2-stroke gears will not work.

From what I’ve been reading is that you are coming out of the hole with a little less spin and use the torque of the engine. Possible better holeshot and better top end

moves the clutch 1:1 speed from 105 to 112mph. For some reason the Vipers are far less efficient running near/past 1:1 ratio than previous sleds. I went the other way on my XTX buy using the 24/50 LTX setup to gain more low end for off trail use, didn't seen to hurt top end at all. What does this change get you ? You wouldn't possibly still have that gears and chain that you would possibly sell ?

I think I have a new 21T top gear as well as possibly a used one that I could put a new bushing in. I don't have the 41T bottom gear.

ok so this might be my summer upgrade. do you loose or gain any MPG. im not so concerned with a few bucks for gas but don't want to have 25 miles less range in the tank either. Do you loose mid range acceleration or anything ? basically what are the downsides, thanx !
