240 tune clutching

Is it worth temporarily changing stock spring hole location for more belt grip?
I have a Dalton B/O on order but not here yet.
18 LTX stock spring is in 3-3, stock helix. I have STM weights with stock primary spring, 225-270 tune, aligned and zero float. Trying to get clutch temps down when running the twisties.
Might be question that's better to suited to others here as I'm not familiar with the STM weights.
Seems to me the logic behind Yamaha's 19 specs is to create less belt pinch at higher speeds. (steeper final angle and less weight in tip of weight). A lot disagree with this but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Yeah, seems kinda the opposite of what's being tested by some guys on here and working better...
Never know unless you give it a try.

Seems that Yami tried to lighten up the clutching on the 2019 to salvage belt life and gain top speed,, But it seems to me they sacrificed bottom end grunt and overall performance.

The idea behind the SRX was to bring back the "lake racer".
The smaller lug track, lower ride height, and clutching, are all choices made toward achieving that goal.

Agreed, but don't be surprised if you get smoked by some light sleds in a short race the way it's clutched

Heavier spring secondary, run 8800-8900 ,adjust rpms in primary, not secondary, she will run good, just saying

I tried light all around with the 270R and wanted like hell to get it to work because i liked the "snap". Guess i didn't realize how much power i was wasting until i went "Heavy". The TD gauge doesn't lie
The stock slugs don't work well with bigger tunes, no doubt. But the thread is about 240hp tuning. Not everyone has hundreds extra $$$$$ to spend on clutching. With a small amount of tweaking, the stock clutch components can give decent results on ecotrail tune.

i think the OP was about the 240 Hurricane tune. Dunno how much weight you can add to the stock arms, but you're gonna need to add quite a bit and replace the sec. spring for sure. I don't think guys understand how these tunes run until they have them. They're not wimpy tunes.

Reading posts I understand stiffer secondary spring, my concern in clutch heat with that, usually heavy springs and heavy weights dont work well with corner to corner, only long pulls, especially with lots of tip weight. Second is usually produced lots of heat

I gave you the setup to run for 240 on post #10 and you'll use all the parts you already have. It's proven to run for thousands of miles. Why are you still asking questions and not setting it up like I gave it to you?

240 is very easy to set up when you're not way off on the clutching like you started with.

Yes I'll try that setup my friend, but I like to learn to improve where I can, many different ways to get to same place. I am new to yami, used to be doo guy, shelves full of parts, usually adjust clutching for were ill be riding on sometimes weekly basis. The yami stuff reacts much diff than doo

Mulling over gearing sled lower for our conditions and 1.5 inch track. Stock gear 125mph, never ride above 115 ever, a lot to gain in efficiency by changing gears, only challenge is the pain it is to do so. Use to change gears on doo in about ten min. This looked like all day

Not as bad as it looks, but not as easy as a doo. Leave the oil tank on the cover and the hoses attached except top hose. Just remove cc cover bolts.
The lower 24 50 combo should still get you 115mph
