For those running hh's in their hurricane tunes. Once the sled gets some good miles on it you are going to need a hell of a lot of weight in the primary. I ordered the optional tungsten washers for mine. I honestly believe lon should be sending out a higher base weight for tuned winders. No matter what you do to a 58g base weight it's not going to be enough. And this is with a light spring. It's incredible how much faster this sled is getting with some miles on it.

Therefore will the Lonn's Big Venom not have enough weight for a 270 tune, is anyone using the Big Venom weights for a 270 tune.

Do you think the HH base weight 58gr with 1/2» brase fastners (9.2gr) or 7/16» brase fastners (7.2gr) together with heavy metal washer will be too light for the 270/280 race tune?

Tungsten washers and you'll be fine. Weight is weight. Don't fall for the members saying you gotta go with another brand. Not true at all.

I went to 63g base weight and it works perfect for max spool 17 TD tune

Yes. Incorporate tungsten washers in the mix and you'll be fine.

I was running the 280r tune, and now called 290r tune and the 58 base with tungsten washers and the big boy brass bolts at 7 grams each and it still wasn't enough. I bought the 63 gram base weights and good to go now. I believe I'm around 80 grams in the HH.
