Two clips put inside behind bearing would make almost a 4mm spacer in chaincase. Just saying since double row bearing is once again untested. 6206 has been.
Specs look good for the 4206... Static, dynamic and fatigue load limits all exceed the 6206. Reference and limiting speed are a bit lower, but still within tolerances for this application.
So really what we have figured out here is 17 bearing, shaft and inner chaincase must be different. Brake side frame member the bearing must be in same position since it determines clutch alignment so must just be some other change of no consequence.
Does seem to be easiest/neatest solution. Have you checked inner case part #'s?Specs look good for the 4206... Static, dynamic and fatigue load limits all exceed the 6206. Reference and limiting speed are a bit lower, but still within tolerances for this application.

There is no inner case number per se'... Its an assembly with bearings already installed, and as such has different part numbers. Without seeing one up close there's no way to know how they account for the narrower bearing.Does seem to be easiest/neatest solution. Have you checked inner case part #'s?
Its only offered complete

Janne's bearing looks like only sure thing.
Packers lost. Gonna be a long Monday! Night guys.
Thank You Ski. I learned alot tonight!

If you prefer a single row bearing with standard metal case, there is a 62206 that also will fit -16 jackshaft. FAG or SKF 62206 2rs1. Only take out the seals. 62206 is 20 mm wide.

I ended up buying the Yamaha special tool YS 11128 for the locking collar and I went with the FAG 2206 bearing...Mr. Sled has a lot of miles on this set up (with high boost) with no problems... I'm cheap and just couldn't justify the cost of a new shaft ect. (Canadian cost is almost double to what you US guys pay)

I looked at a 2017 sidewinder today (pretty sure its the same as the 2017-18 Viper case) and the 6206 bearing is seated fully into the case and the circlip groove is 4mm deeper than the 14-16 viper groove. I think a 4mm spacer would work fine so you could use the 2017 shaft and 6206 bearing. View media item 1593
Since I already ordered my 2016 shaft I'll just look into a 4206 bearing.
The limiting speed on the 62206 seems a bit low to me... 7500 rpm vs 15000 rpm for the 2206 bearing and 9500 rpm for the 4206.

The 62206 bearing have seals on both side. If you pull of the seals and juse oil, not grease, you can rise the limiting speed. 6206 2RS with seals also have 7500 rpm.

Great point, I'll check availability on that one too. ThanksThe 62206 bearing have seals on both side. If you pull of the seals and juse oil, not grease, you can rise the limiting speed. 6206 2RS with seals also have 7500 rpm. Without seals higher than 10000 rpm.
