Wonder why they switched to 6206 bearing in chaincase? What they think is better?
Simple. All sleds have previosly just had a regular ballbearing in that position. In all the years I have been around snowmobiles I cant recall a single instance of a failure of that bearing on chaincase side unless something catastrophic happened such as total loss of oil. These wobble bearings have failed many times,The TCL is no longer used in our sled, they must feel flex is not enough to affect the new bearing.

Ok. What you mean with TCL?
Since 2012 Almost all the cats other than 7000 have the Engine directly connected to the jackshaft by a piece of aluminum called the TCL. This is why the wobble bearing was originally put in since the motor is allowed to move in its mounts the jackshaft must also. Great theory to keep perfect clutch alignment but some theories go bad in application. Every year the TCL system has gotten better but the proof is the Viper/7000 it has no TCL and belt blowing is very rare.Ok. What you mean with TCL?

No but it seems to be leaking. There is no seal between oil tank and chaincase. It's silicone. Did you split it?

After the season I gonna check my chaincase and replace the wobble bearing again. And of course a Swedish SKF bearing..
Thanks for input Cannondale!

You sure? Make sure its not chaincase oil. This is what I was told to use by Tech. Others just use Ultra Black Silicone. I have not done it myself yet so.No but it seems to be leaking.

Nr 3 , housing, has a new partnumber on 17 Viper. Whats different from old one?

Whole casting looks different. Stronger I hope? Good find. Looks like best way to update to 17 would be to buy the kit once available like I did for 16 update stuff.Nr 3 , housing, has a new partnumber on 17 Viper. Whats different from old one?

Wonder if it works with the new housing (nr 3 in pic) to fit 16 jackshaft? And then only change the upper bearing to a 6206 (with 4 mm shims) or a 20 mm wide 62206 or 4206? 4206 is a double row?
I guess we need 17 Viper back case if upgrade to 17 jackshaft?

No. That end of shaft looks exactly the same. It lists 6206 bearing for chaincase also. Have not checked size compared to the wobble bearing but I believe its all the same except width. So yes the spacer are needed. Still the question of whether the gears are same width at shaft?Wonder if it works with the new housing (nr 3 in pic) to fit 16 jackshaft? Just checked. Same size except narrower.
If gears are same then all that would be needed are spacers, bearing and the 17 shaft assembly.
Gears are same. So with the narrower bearing the issue is the clip in chaincase. the groove in the inner chaincase must be in further. You are correct would either need the inner chaincase or make a spacer from a old wobble bearing.
