Orange primary spring with glide washers
3/4 allen in the heel
3/8 aluminum bolt in mid
3/8 Steel bolt, brass washer in tip

Stock helix

3-3 wrap

8500 - 8700 rpm soft snow

Check your spring wrap. 3+3 is 60degrees. Make sure your not wrapped past the first set of holes.

Those HH are very aggressive on the tip and your loaded up heavy on the tip. I had the same issues on my turbo viper with roller secondary over clamping a soft belt.

Not sure what you mean by "first set of holes"? Are you referring to the bolt holes for the Helix? When installing Helix, I turned it clockwise until the ramps aligned with the rollers and then slid the back plate towards me to put the bolts through the holes of the Helix. Pretty sure this how you do it?

I'm running more weight than you are and my sled will hit 9100 rpm then settle between 8850-8950 RPM.

I have

3/4 allen in heel 3.3 grams You have same
3/8 steel bolt center 2.6 grams You have .9 grams
3/8 steel bolt steel washer tip 4 grams. You have3 grams.


I would think you should be reving much higher than I am. I also have orange secondary spring and 33/35 Dalton helix.

Something is going on. I don’t look what yet. You should be more rpms. Check your sled over for boost leaks. Check all clamps on cooler lines and such.

That's what I was thinking shag. I'm running a lot more weight than he is and I'm pulling much higher RPM's. That just doesn't add up.

Not so concerned about RPM's. It was my first ride with the kit. Bad Conditions, very soft. I also am running a Backcountry track. I will work on the RPM's.

My primary concern is the Temperature of the clutches and belt. Very hot. You could only hold your hand on either Clutch or Belt for 3 seconds and then ouch! Something isn't right. I do not suspect the primary clutch, I think the issue is in the Secondary?

I agree it’s in the secondary. But you rpms shouldn’t be that low. And if the is that big of a load to pull them down that far, that is where your heat is coming from. How tight is your track. An extremely tight track will also pull rpms down. And when you say very soft. How much snow. 6” ,1’. Just trying to figure it out.

He’s running a super soft belt that’s why his rpms are low.
 
This was why winders clutches run hot, to bad it’s gone.

Groomed trails, kind of. We just got three feet of snow in one snow fall. Wet, sticky and soft. I am also a big guy, 280. 1.75" Backcountry track.

I made adjustment to the front spring, tightened. It was too tight and I backed it off on the trail. I am going to lift it and check the tension as well.
