Would it work if you put your brake rotor in a vise and then put the axle through it. If you're worried about the surface you could always clamp it between a few pieces of wood.

Could you not just put a pipe wrench on the drive shaft and have someone hold it ?

The pipe wrench will leave a couple marks, but no dents that I could notice.No chance of denting or leaving dimples?

Travis said he was going to make the new ones longer since he never made it any longer after machining the flat spots that were suppose to be inside the shaft, i made 1/8" custom wrench to tighten it up, problem is if flat spots are left out it could lock the brake rotor as well as the bearing giving it pulses on the brake leverWell thats news to me.. sounds like he needs to make them longer then.
