Anyone know this guy from MI

anyone can look in to buy...its posting..selling and taking money...the sellers need to be good to protect the good name of Ty...

the way I look at it standing members of so much time in length should be able to post...they post with a feedback rating ....and post...in the main classifieds..

then a non sanctioned classifieds sub forum which will list the caveats (warnings) and have less posting ability with more requirements.. (maybe require the mods to approve the poster and or ads before posting...)

or require all transactions to be paid through paypal and have a good ebay user rating

There is a rating system on Totallyamaha.net but it doesn't allow us to control the transaction but on this site there isnt. But with this issue and others that have happened in the past is pushing me more and more to have VIP only classified listings to help protect the buyer.

x2, I agree...

To me there is no other way to make a payment other then Paypal.... you are guaranteed your product if you dont have it within 30 days.

You need to explain, I have been using paypal for over 10 years and have never been shafted....

If the seller doesn't have any money in their account I don't believe that you will get any money back in a botched transaction. They need to have funds in their account.

in response to the three post above mine, I have a question. I thought paypal only protects you really if its an ebay sale? Another words if a botched transaction is done through paypal on ebay sales, ebay and paypal back you 100%, but as far as private listings, like craigslist, forums sales online and such, i thought paypal really doesnt offer much protection as they say they really have no way to prove of any misdoings/what the items really were?

I'm only asking because i got burned once before through another sled forum few years back, and I used paypal, and paypal told me since they had no sale to go buy they wont refund me, and said it was mostly for extra protection from ebay, online commercial buys and such.

Was I told the wrong thing? Policy with them could have changed by now too i guess.

I agree either way vip sales is the way to go, and paypal is by far still the best way to pay for anything. I mean what if your check or mo is lost in the mail, whos fault is that then and how do you fix an issue like that, that just makes for a peeing match and hard times, too much stuff can always happen when paypal isnt used..

If you purchased something you can file a dispute, it does not have to be from Ebay. I have done it several times and it was resolved quickly.

ok, thats for clearing that up.

I can tell you this, I sell and ship several parts a week on and off ebay via paypal. Canadians like postal. I have UPS daily and would rather toss a package in the river and float it to you than use postal. the most incompetant service on the planet. non the less, use it on occasion for their tarrif benefit up north. have multiple times had buyer not get package, or damage, or one time empty, retaped package. as a seller, paypal does absolutely nothing for me. if you are at the other end and your card has buyer protection, they simply take the money from me, no questions asked, no proof etc. but I believe that has to do with the charge card company filing and paypal not lifting a finger. never once had an unresolved problem with UPS.
the roles have been reversed. as a buyer, with ambition to see it through, you have protection. as a seller, especially across borders, the only thing I have is trust that the buyer is a decent person.
I sure hope I remember to never burn mr sled. my ole lady would kill me if her info was posted in retaliation. LOL

Are you saying even if your a great seller and did everything right, sometimes all the buyer has to do is say if didnt come, or isnt right and they take your money, and you lose your item??

I have had serious problems with paypal also. filed a dispute, 30 days later they told me they couldn't help me. I paid a $500 deposit on a vehicle that did not exist because I believed paypal would protect me, they left me hanging. lost my deposit.
