Anyone know this guy from MI

Im saying its a tool..thats it...nothing is guaranteed 100% .... a 100% of the time...

personaly I dont do a deal outside of ebay without a phone conversation and some good info...the more money...the more detail...then maybe a money order (traceable) and btw interstate fraud if larceny is comitted...or maybe paypal...the user rating on ebay means a lot to me as people will want to protect their built up good name..

just remember...nothing beat due diligence..get the details of as much as you can..

its a shame not everyone is straight...

Are you saying even if your a great seller and did everything right, sometimes all the buyer has to do is say if didnt come, or isnt right and they take your money, and you lose your item??[/quote]
yup, been there, done that. not easy being a seller. especially across borders. I dont like buying either. really pisses me off with the junk crap people sell. drives the price down, no wonder buyers are nervous. just last week, bought a fan for a customers atv, from a seller with 1300 99%. was seized tight. god that pissed me off, had to ship back, took 3 weeks of my time. what an a hole. sometimes its a good thing you cant squeeze your arms through these wires we comunicate through. know exactly why mr sled is revved up

here's another. had a guy (of alternate sexual preference) call me from Ca. and desperately wanted me to ship a bike front end I had listed. His exact words were, that is exactly what I need, can you ship today?gave him the whole front end for 80 and another 80 ship at cost. gets it, doesn't fit his bike. I refund 80, leaving me at 0, even though it his fault. eventually, paypal takes the other 80 without ever defending me or any formality. leaving me 80 loss. thats the part of ebay, 10% and paypal 3% that kills me, pretty sure there isn't even a human being involved

The best and only way to be protected on Paypal (and yes I think they suck but am forced to use them) is to use a CC ONLY. With a credit card, you have the full protections of VISA/AMX/whoever to resolve the issue and they will pursue and reverse the transaction even if paypal does not. Also, you can't have a dick seller fiel against you and freeze your account and cause you all kinds of headaches <<<been there.

If this guy is scewing you over, federal fraud charges vis the USPS should be your first stop, second is the county sheriff where he lives.

Seems to me I and some others have suggested VIP classifieds only in the past and it was scoffed at. Furthermore what is stopping this same guy from buying a vip status and still doing the same thing? For the record I am all for classifieds with VIP status only.

VIP wouldn't help the problem. Man starting to sound like the Canadian government one guy screws it up everyone has to suffer?? VIP would limit the amount the selling and buying it would effect everyone. Great website.

If we had to give more detailed info to become VIP members and only VIP members could buy and sell. That would sure make it difficult for someone trying to be dishonest. I don't think that it would effect the classifieds that much if you want to sell your yamaha parts or sled what better avenue can you ask for than here to sell or buy used or yamaha specific parts here. For the extra piece of mind knowing only VIP can buy or sell it may very well increase sales. That said the majority of transactions that go on here have no problems the way it is now. The real reason I like the idea of VIP to buy or sell is that it gives something to the site that makes it all possible in the first place and I dont think that is too much to ask when you get all the knowledge of the whole site to fix your sled or upgrade it for free.

I think that if you need to be a VIP member to sell and allow everyone to buy then the possibility for fraud or misleading deals will be greatly reduced. I'm basing my opinion on that to become a VIP member it requires a payment of some kind and that shows commitment to the site. Along with that commitment it can be assumed that the VIP member wants to protect their identity/reputation by ensuring honest transactions. Of course this would do nothing to stop a buyer "claiming" to never receiving a product, but I guess that is what tracking numbers are for. It would be great, prior to entering into a transaction, to know if either the buyer, or seller, had any problems in the past and you can decide whether to proceed from there.

Short of dealing face to face with the buyer/seller there is no 100% safe way of completing a transaction.

My 2 cents. :dunno:

As if snowmobiling isn't expensive enough now we have to pay to use the classified section? :o| I can see your point but I don't believe this is the answer.

Funny you say that. Most classifieds use to be "pay to list". Since craigs list open for free listings most other sites have pulled that option to force users to pay. Its only more of a good gesture for those that USE the site would give back to the site and in the long run would make it safer for some to buy. I am sure we at Totallyamaha can not make all of you happy and thats too bad.... :o|

I know a guy that got screwed over on paypal on over a 1000.00 on some race pipes and paypal automatically took the money out of the guys account I know.

I think the buyer has to be just as honest as the seller and they both need to be VIP.

Just call your local newspaper and put it in there classifieds. Not free for one and it wont sell. I have bought and sold many things here and being a lifetime member is cheap compared to learning or selling from other sources.

like i said before i see where your trying to go with this by making it so only an elite group of people can use it.....but there are still people who have the money to be a VIP and will still screw someone over. Just because a person is VIP doesn't make them a good trustworthy person.

On the otherhand i do like the exclusive use of paypal. Has worked good for me so far

Too bad there is no rating on this site. Tom maybe you ask the makers of the forum to put something like that in for now though could not something be added to their username or profile by Mr Sled or moderators to signify this guy has had shady deals in the past?

Regardless if the transaction is VIP or not there will always be that odd person looking to scam some money out of someone! There is no perfect way to buy or sell on the internet. I have bought several items through this website from some great people. But before I bought I have checked there postings, dealings with the website to see if i could find any negativity about this person. It's not hard for a person to become a VIP and then scam someone. The money made in the scam would pay for the VIP membership. I am not sure what the remedy for this problem is but I think it's up to the buyer to do their homework and hope the deal goes through. There is no guarantee! I am not saying that a VIP membership is not worth the money, but VIP classifieds would limit the average Totallyamaher access to great deals and information.
