24,000 miles with the Allen heads screws in the oil pans and I really can't figure out how you could strip one, unless you use the wrong Allen key!

Rather than go though a ritual of hammering on a allen head key making sure its completely in every time, I just grab a socket and remove. Like I said, why not just swap it out? I also swapped out the allen head bolts holding the Y pipes.

Hammering it? LOL! I just grab an Allen socket and with a couple light taps to seat it take the bolt out. No fuss no muss! Right tool for the job works every time! Allen head bolts are awesome! I've seen hex head bolts strip long before Allen heads ever will.

Yes, Good point. Two out of the four on my sled were twisted beyond repair this year, lucky my dealer had a few in stock which tells my it's a common problem. When putting them back on I noticed that they can only be oriented in one direction. There's a notch in the clamp and bump on the rubber boot that must line up. I had been having my son do my oil changes the past few seasons, you know what they say, if you want it done right.........

My battery box looks welded to the frame. Thus, I don't see how you can remove it. It is silver and also has rivets going down the side. Any suggestions?

Then someone has modified it... can you post a picture? That battery rack has to come out or you will not be able to remove the filter. My battery box looks welded to the frame. Thus, I don't see how you can remove it. It is silver and also has rivets going down the side. Any suggestions?

you have to take out the whole thing cross pipe and all there is a bolt on each side and then you have to twist and turn it to get it out past all the wires and such also two smaller bolts in the front bottom need to come out too it is a big piece.

No follow the support tubes to each side, unbolt it, then also unbolt it from the steering rack on the bottom.

I do also believe you will have to give that battery box bracket a twist to wiggle it out.....

Ya bit of a pain but not that hard to do. I like the guy who modified the battery box so you don't have to take that cross piece out. Search not working but he should start building them. People would buy them in a heartbeat!
