Seeing as this is a service bulletin i would think no yamaha dealers will not be sending out a notice.
In the past service bulletins were done in 2 ways.
1-If you have a great dealer they normally tell you about hem while your sled is in for service and do the service bulletin if you agree.
2- you go into the dealer complaining of an issue and they correct it under the service bulletin.
Its kind of a squeeky wheel gets the grease sort of thing.
Being that some guys claim to have no issue with the hot/cold starting, it would waste a ton of yamaha's money fixing wall those that are not broken.
Being this is an engine control/fuel mapping sort of thing it may be handled differently but from what ive seen in the past the customer usually is only notified for recalls.
Its best to contact your dealer and log a complaint of hot/cold start issues and see where that gets you.

Yes it should be released for the Yamahas soon this week, hopefully. I know my dealer said he has to buy BOTH Yamaha and Arctic Cat programmers. They won't allow him to be able to do both with the one...

Thats interesting,
Being as the sleds appear so similar you would have thought it was a universal tool that would work on both
Thats got to be frustrating for the dealers
I have no idea why they are not compatible but I do know the Cats require a keycode entered into the dash at time of purchase and Yamaha doesnt so maybe that affects it or maybe cat is just making some $ off the Yamaha dealers.

I believe it's so a Yamaha or Cat dealer can only do their respective brand and not allow them to be able to "take that away" from the authorized (brand) dealer..
I am sure you are correct. Not very forward thinking though. $$$$

I understand the reasoning behind protecting the dealers but in the long run you would think that the customers should be the primary focus. If you can increase you service "base" by allowing customers to take their machines to either dealer it makes it much easier for the people that have the "other guy" close to home but have to go out of their way to get to their respective dealer.

If this does end up being a warranty item then the dealer shouldn't have to be on the hook for any cost. This is a factory screw up not a dealer one.

Hmmm....wonder if they are trying to keep this separate because the partnership will end in a year or two?

The dealer gets paid to do this. I couldn't see the details on the screen, but it looked like .2hrs. There is likely something in the dealer contract agreements that keeps Yamaha work inside Yamaha's dealer network.
