Hey Leeko - I got the Green springs, (0-4000), from Holtzman engineering in Eagle River, Wis., and they install in under 10 minutes. They are under the plastic carb caps, but watch so you don't loose the little rubber o-rings under that cap. They are softer spring pressure than the stock ones, which is causing the slides to not open soon enough on the bottom end, and starts to close the slides at top end speeds. Price of springs is around $40 with shipping.

Hey everyone - 9/21/03 W.I.R. Raceway Started out real nice, in the 40's, and lots of dew on the pumpkins. Went up to 76 with 45% humidity. Track was soo slippery, the guy on the ZR900, came into my lane. Not just a ski, but the whole sled! My next pass was just as bad, but I had to let off, otherwise I would have kissed the rail.
I changed gearing to a 23/40 combo, to see if I could get this thing quicker, WRONG!!! I couldn't pull any mph., and it showed.
(forgot to add the 15 -20 mph headwind from the end of the track)
1st run
1.559 60 ft. 7.067 @ 94.071mph 1/8 mile 11.387 1/4 @ 110.547mph

good times
Hi 1xr sounds like you are getting it dialed in to,you and nos-pro are doing a great job, keep it up guys, thats a big sled to get down 1/4 mile real fast w/the limited hp yammi gave us to work with,to be running near 114 mph in 1/4 mile w/only 140+ hp and near 700 lb. sled w/fuel is quite a feat. Keep the times coming in,as long as the track is open lol

did some testing tonight 660 feet asphalt
we used 8bu-00 with 4.5 mid and 4.5 tip
and white max spring and 15mm rollers
and also ran 21-38
and ran a 45' helix and green secondary at 3-1 with belt up 1/4 from top of secondary
now get ready for this
our 60 foot was 1.532
our et was 6.65
and at 108 mph
now i got the winning combo
good old yamaha weights always worked good for me

srxxtrem or shoud I say rx1xtrem, those time are extrem. I tried 8bu ramps on the track on fri night they had 2 3.6 gram pins with y w y spring stock size rollers, stock cam silver spring 70 twist. First the track had no compound or rubber doun and the engine would only rev 9700 witch only gave me a 11.35 time. What is a whit e max spring? Did you make your tests at the drag track or do you have g-tec ? Great mph in 660.

For any racing 660' & less it is really tuff to beat the 8bu-8ca-8ab weights. I have allways used em & will allways continue to do so in a short blast.

yeap i agree with you there turk
i have always used 8bu's and will always for drags or what ever
not too hard for a guy to change set ups for radar if he hase too
as for your ? about my weights and springs
for one my 8bu's are not stock !
i run a maxximum performance white spring and i also run smaller rollers
and split collars, and also my primary clutch is machied by psi and i also cut the back of my helixes every one of them flush to the bushing so i get full shift , i also cut my secondary so it closed more so the belt rides higher when i 1st take off
even with all the bolts taken out of the back of the secondary ,
lots of tricks i learn over the years , and it took me 2 years to get to know alot of you befor i even started to post some info on anything ...
you never know whos looking and one day it could be a guy sitting right besode you at a starting line ... get what im saying ... some stuff you just dont tell
but remeber one thing !!!!!!!
THE LONGER YOUR SLED STAYS IN 1ST GEAR THE FASTER IT WILL BE IN 660 FEET , YOU DONT NEED BIG HP TO WIN 660 , ITS ALL IN THE TORQUE RANGE AND IF YOU STAY IN THE TORQUE RANGE LONGER THEN THE GUYS BESIDE YOU THE FASTER YOU WILL BE...
when you come to under stand what i just said then you also will have a kick #*$&@ sled ......
remeber 660 on a race it time not mph , time vs speed .... if you want to go fast then start doing radar runs ,
if you want to talk radar then start a new post i got lots ot say about that also ... my 2001 srx hit 129 mph in 2500 feet ice . and motor was stock
chow for now

Hey mnmsnowbeast - Hey, thanks bud! Marc, myself, 1xr, and everybody helping out, has made this asphalt results topic the biggest and most viewed topic on the forum. Isn't it great! The information I have tried to stick with is running a mostly stock RX1, and doing very little changes to it, to improve performance in all levels with results. This way, if someone wants to add some performance to their sled, without doing everything that I changed, he can choose between them, and actually see what improvement there was. Marc has a lot of stuff done to his clutching, as he mentioned, which I will be doing next year for the asphalt season. There is soo much potential in the sled, that big dollar improvements can really make a difference. But for now, I had the general public in mind. Hope everybody that has responded, or viewed this topic, has had good results, and are getting anxious to kick some major but this winter season. We are getting close to the end of race season, and have come a long way in a short time. All the way from high 12's, down to a fast time of 10.998, and we are not done yet, so stayed tuned in!

Hey everyone, the Nitrous is on, and should be able to make some runs on Sunday, if weather permits. I couldn't find a real good spot to mount the bottle, so I decided to take the stock airbox off, and put my K&N setup on with Holtzman red springs. Sounds good, and really ticked off my neighbors last night. So we will kill 2 birds with one stone this time at the track. Will post pics later.
