Help!!!! I have a 2000 SRX with Wahl brothers asphalt skiis in which wasn’t really a problem until I had to replace the wheels. The problem is that the new wheels are bigger in diameter and end up rubbing on the trailing arms when the front of the ski dips down and the back comes up. I phoned Wahl brothers this morning and they tell me all skiis are made the same and that they have heard of this problem on the Yamahas. The Walh Brothers rep told me that what guys do is build a stop behind the spindle in order to stop the ski from coming up. He wasn’t sure how they did it. It would be nice if they would offer this. Does anyone here have any knowledge of this or have a sample (pictures) of what he is talking about? I need to fix this up for this weekend.

If you I understand this right, the wheels only rub when the front end lifts. So, If you jack up the front of the sled you can see how the wheels pivot around the bushing and end of the spindle. You should be able to add a 'stop' below and slightly behind the hold for the bolt that holds the ski on. To build the stop, simply drill a hole and add a nut/bolt so that when the ski lifts, the nut hits the bottom of the spindle before the wheel hits the trailing arm. You could also drill a hole all the way through both sides and use a long bolt and nut.

Monker, thanks for the suggestions, I'm going to have a look and see if I cam put a stop bolt in or something like that. Hopefully that will work and not affect the steering.
If the problem was only when the front of the sled lifted it wouldn't really matter as the skiis would be in the air and the wheels don't have to turn when they aren't touching the ground, but this happens when it's rolling in the staging lanes when there's a dip or when I'm loading it on the trailer etc.

Thanks Monker, I put a bolt across the back of the spindle and it seems to work, the only thing now is that it seems to have changed things a little, 60' times this weekend were off with quite a bit of spinning at the line.
