Well, at 600 miles on the odometer, blew a belt. Changed the belt and now since then I get a serious vibration and I am not sure if the belt blowing out is the reason or even if its connected. over 40 miles per hour....its almost as if I feel the track hitting the tunnel (best way I can describe it) . Any ideas as to what it can be? I thouyght maybe the track was loose, but I know nothing about the mechanics of a sled.
Is there any piece of belt that got caught in the clutch or secondary and is causing it to go out of balance?

NO. I ACTUALLY TOOK APART THE SECONDARY CLUTCH TO CLEAN IT OUT PROPERLY.

Track should be checked for tension first 100 miles and then again after a few hundred more. They stretch. Mine kept stretching till about 500 miles.
If you lift the back end and you have lots of sag....it is hitting the tunnel, or ratchetting. Tells in the book how to tighten track. If you can't do it take it back to the dealer. :exc:

First off lose the caps we can all hear you just fine. By saying this did you just spread the sheaves apart or did you take the helix off? If so did you put the same tension on the helix as when you took it off? And like was said earlier check the track tension.

The Helix was tighten to the maximum (I didn't realize that there should have been a certain tension), and I tightened the track one and a half turns.
I have never taken mine off and I dont know what the stock setting is you are going to have to find out from your dealer.

IT NOTICED IT WAS AT 6 AND 1 AND THATS WHERE I REPLACED IT. IS THAT WHAT YOU MEAN?
Yes it should be set at where it was prior to you taking it apart. Here is a link to take you to the technical pages. http://www.totallyamaha.com/
Was your track really loose this was probably where the problem came from if it was. Did you check the shaft to make sure it was not bent also. Easy to check just pick sled up with the belt gaurd off spin the track with the engine if it is bent will be easy to see.

Yes, I felt the track loose. like I said I tightened it 1 and a half turns and is still a little loose in my opinion. How would the shaft get bent and would that cause vibration like that?

Checked the helix with the sled lifted in the air and it doesn 't seem to be warped. Any other ideas as to what it can be? The dealer has no clue.

On my RX1 last year, I changed a belt out at about mid season. I installed a new Yammi 8dn belt and had an on power vibration afterwards. I never smoked it, and it was broken in properly. The vibration wasn't extreme, but was noticable. As part of routine maintenance this summer, I put on another new belt and this season, no vibration what so ever. The only other drivetrain maintenance was relubing the bearings in the skid and jackshaft / driveshaft. I'd try another belt just in case.

How many miles did you put on the new belt before you were going WOT, Should have been at least 20 cause a new belt can slip, glaze and cause vibes. I had some vibes coming frome mine at higher speed's, Wound the driven clutch 10 degre's tighter and all was smooth.
