I just got myself Klim's covert balaclava. Not much help since I have not tried it yet but it looks really good/warm.

For stopping fog there's not much, if anything better than a No-Fog mask.
I wore one for years before I switched to an electric shield and it worked great.

I have to say Im not impressed with Klim in this area. I used the UnWind system with the adjustable mask and that worked really good for the real cold temps. I also find the Yamaha fleece works pretty well. I have both Klim Balaclava's and was not impressed at all. I only use klim on warmer days of riding.

I have the Klim and find it cold and doesn't provide enough wind protection.
When its really cold I use a Unwind balaclava. They are warm but kind of bulky.

Ive found its hit or miss. What works for me doesnt work for my buddy. Start out with a cheap one and if it doesnt work try a different one.

I have two Klim balaclavas -- the covert and the standard one. I also own a varied assortment of twenty or so other brand balaclavas. I love the standard Klim one the best. It's warm, comfortable, and soft (read: not scratchy), and always comes along. The Klim Covert is ok, but is tight, and goes down really far. Just not comfortable IMHO, it Usually stays home with the others. I also bring a backup one which is a really super thin material. If I get hot I trade out the Klim one for that one.
Btw, I run it under a Klim f4 helmet.

No Fog Xtreme is the warmest balaclava. My open face MX helmet using this balaclava is way warmer and quieter than using a Klim balaclava and my closed face helmet. G.B.

I have also used a No-Fog mask for years....works great.
I did modify mine slightly by cutting a hole in it where the mesh you breath thru is....doesn't affect warmth, and is much easier to breath when digging a sled out of 3 feet of powder.

The No Fog is a very nice mask, I tried one for a day and liked it but would do the same thing Yooper_Bob did as teh part around the mouth bothered me. I run the one out of the Yamaha Catalog...made by FXR. It a No Fog copy but I find it very warm and comfortable for beathing. I wear a thin beany on my head and this combo with my Scott goggles works perfect..nice and warm but not hot and no wind issues. I bought 509 Aviators this year and they don't have the coverage of the Scotts as they don't have over sized foam so I am going to tray a Scott balacalva. They look like they have good coverage.

I like the loks of that one, and made especially for those who wear an electric shield?
Currently I am after something that comes down and covers the chest area a little better like a dickie but if the one above comes down far enough, I may just get one of those?
Thanks for the link

I use an Under Armour head sock. I find it to be extremely comfortable and versatile, as well as warm. I use it under my mx style helmet with a removable breath box. Been running that setup for 4 years now with no problems.
