Not really enough for chaincase problems I wouldn't think.
Take a close look at the clutches because something is wrong.
You shouldn't have to put a hundred dollar belt on every weekend.
Are you breaking the belts in, 60 kph for the first 60 km or so

Not really breaking them in but not riding hard after changing them. Not any different than I've done in the past on any other sleds.

Which clutch was warped
I haven't read the entire thread yet but my guess would be your primary has grooves in both sheaves......happened on my RX-1 and just happened to son-in-law's Apex......two causes......extremely hard 8DN Yamaha belts and cruising at same relative speed a LOT......check your primary sheaves about 2/3 of the way down and I'll bet you can feel grooves with your fingers......that causes excessive heat and blooey.........

I am taking both clutches in to my dealer when I get a chance since I can't find anything wrong with them myself

Lay a straight edge (small metal ruler etc.) along the angle of each sheave. That will show you in an instant if you have any grooves or valleys. Good Luck! Replacing those farking clutches is no fun at all, dollar wise......

Re: Blown Belts on new 2012 Vector in 700 miles
I also have a '12 vector. The original belt was on for 2000 miles then I changed to a Ultimax. The Yamie belt didn't fail I just wanted a softer compound belt. The ultimax went bad after 1800 miles so the Yamie bel t is back on.. check your alignment closely, Yamie belts last a long time..

I've got nearly 3000 miles on my original belt and things are still going well. On my last sled (ski-doo) I would have gone through 2-3 belts by now. The cost of running my Vector is way cheaper than my last sled.

Had the clutches at the dealer today and they found nothing wrong. pulled chaincase apart and there is nothing wrong. I am going to gear down from a 22t top gear to a 21t. I haven't been riding because I am scared to blow another belt but I guess we will see what happens now.

Have you checked alignment of the two clutches? My 09 vector was going belts to and found alignment off. Are your clutches stock or do they have clutch kits in them?
