Oem 8DN's and one Carlisle. Is this my problem driving sled to hard In conditions it wasn't designed for. I know there is not much for ventilation in the belt area compared to my older two strokes.

Blown Belts on new 2012 Vector in 700 miles
I have a new 2012 Vector. My Yamaha belt blew in 700 miles. Is anyone else having a problem?

I don't want to say with a 100% certainty, but like Madmax also suggested, the type of riding you're doing with your sled is definitely not helping matters.

Maybe mountain vector gears and clutching would help

I just got back from a trip with my 2010 Vector GT, and blew 2 belts. Does locking up the track at 70 mph do much damage to belts? I did that a few times with each belt. The second belt only had 200 miles on it. It must have gotten very hot because some of the cords were melted into the plastic body panels, I was driving very hard. That belted ended in -00 and I heard that there is an updated belted ending in -01. The -00 belts broke up into pieces no bigger than 2" in length, the previous one only lost a couple of bumps on the inside and it was a -01. The one I have on now is a -01.

I was blowing belts on my 06 rage.

Which clutch was warped
I think secondary because it wasn't real expensive

Put on 237 km today with no belt issues it was 90 percent groomed trail but aggressive riding.

I have been riding my Vector LTX in 4' of powder. I do not take it easy and I have 3300 miles on the original belt.
I couldn't get 700 miles out of a belt on my Rage.
I also lost about 10 mph and my gas milage went for a crap, but that was after I was blowing belts for a long time.
When I took it to get fixed I found that my drive chain was seized and also the warped clutch face thing.
The chain was from not changing the gear oil yearly and it broke down and overheated, warprd the case cover, oil drained out..yada yada yada all kinds of crap and reasons..I had 10,000 miles on it.
After I got it fixed I got my speed and milage back and never blew another belt but I only kept it for another 2000 miles
Bottom line is you have issues somewhere because you should not be blowing belts like that

I have oil in the chain case. I am going to take the clutches in for an inspection. Was yours the secondary that was warped.

I'm pretty sure it was the secondary but at the time I was more concerned with the chaincase.
My dealer said he couldn't get parts for a week so I had to go across the border and buy the chaincase parts myself and bring them for him to install so I didn't miss a weekend of riding, plus it was 3 years ago now.
How many likes do you have on the Rage?

What do you mean by likes? Myself I love it for trail riding. I like it for Ditch banging and jumping banks. Not enough power for deep powder fields but that could be from the issue that is burning my belts up. I don't go to the mountains and have no desire to be the first one across the lake. Overall I like it and if was going to trade it in it would be for a newer fuel injected vector ltx.

typo...miles, not likes...don't know how I did that one.
You must get a lot more powder than us, or no melts. My Rage always had plenty of power to play in fields but we generally get a couple of warm ups to crust the powder a bit.
The Apex uses the same exact belt as the Rage, 40 more HP and they don't blow belts every 200 miles.

3500km, this is an exceptional year for snow not normal for us.
