Blown Belt

Any help on how to measure offset? Where you measuring to get 58.1 to 61.1. I've always just used a straight edge.

Check "Flat spot roller" post. On page 15 Shagman attached pic from Manuel showing how to check offset.

Leaving early tomorrow morning so I took 3 washer, sanded a flat edge to fit in helix and then put them on the surface grinder to make them identical in thickness. I will report how this works as early as tomorrow night. I have the TD turbo force, TD Ecotrail, Dalton weights from TD and 192 - 1.52 INS stingers. I also have my wife's Viper with me if I need to try that secondary.

Viper clutch helix cut may/may not be conducive for optimum performance, but I would be curious in a temp comparison.

Say 2 mile wot winder roller, repeat test with viper button....find cheap harbor freight lazer thermometer and measure heat differences.

Both of these clutches if not machined will coil bind....giving you different heat temps. "if" machined for coil bind, you will have lower clutch temps

someone on here already did the rear clutch set up swap,he was locked in all stock at 109 and put his viper clutch on and gaines 10 mph more.

what kind of machining for the primary, the split rings? Why does the primary need help?

No, not primary....

Fleecer talks about the secondaries from the Viper and the Sidewinder

K....another member with a blown belt..... No washer behind the secondary

there is a washer behind mine...and offset is within specs. Granted only 250 miles on my sled so far...but very little belt dust, clutch temps good...and belt looks mint.

have washer behind secondary, blown belt at 280 miles and 2 rollers with flat spots....

it was a pull in half... no 100 pieces of exploded crap...

clean break so to speak? That's pretty much what's happening to the ones that are breaking.. Primary pulls and secondary wont open anymore and =bang. Spring bind in secondary and inconsistent helixes/ maybe even springs causing most it seems
