Bottom gear

Where's a good place for bottom gear/pricing?

Hyvo 7/8" for winders... correct me if I'm wrong?

Stock gear is 13W on bottom but you could use a 15W if u want. OEM is usually the cheapest

Ok, so bottom is 13w, I didn't know that, Ty.
Is the chain a 7/8" Hyvo???

Called Venom products this morning, they don't sell a 38t bottom gear. Hmmm

So I found the 38t gear @ Black diamond. The only chain they sell is the 3/4" hyvo. So am I correct in assuming the 7/8" chain will have to be outsource from
Elsewhere. I am also assuming this is because our yami top gear is too wide and requires a 7/8" chain?!?!

Top gear is 7/8 wide as well as the chain, but the bottom gear they use from the Viper models yet and is only 3/4 wide. If you want a 7/8" wide bottom gear they are available, I don't have a 38 on hand right now. Which length chain are you looking for?

15 link wide (7/8") chain 84 pitch is Cat p/n 2602-838. (https://www.countrycat.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=2602-838).
21 tooth 7/8" wide top gear w oil holes = Cat 1702-490.
38 tooth 3/4" wide bottom gear = Cat 2602-836. I wouldn't worry about having 7/8" wide (13 link wide) bottom sprocket as there's so many teeth engaged with chain.

Turboflash, I ordered both the
Cat #2602-838 84pin chain
Cat #2602-836 38t bottom gear
Both to work with my top 21t DMC gear.
Note: '17 sidewinder...just saying... hahaha

If 21/38 is the ratio you are looking for (.55) you may be better off running 25/45 (.56) as it run more efficiently (longer chain, less rolling resistance, greater circumference = less energy wasted). Others here have run that combo.

I was trying to utilize my DMC fortified top gear. I'm probably never going to be "that guy" searching for every last drop of advantage, however I do appreciate your work up you did (spread sheet) along with this info on efficiency.
The 21/38 gearing required a 83.69 pin chain. So...should leave room for plenty of future adjustment.
Very thankful....I'll just try to make the best of it.

I don't think anyone has made a 25 tooth top gear in a 7/8" wide version. OEM gears are 21, 22, 24. At one time Venom Products made aftermarket top gears, but they were only 3/4" wide, instead of the 7/8" wide used on the 998T sleds. I know they had "gear kits" for the 1100 turbo cat as well, but they were discontinuing them I believe.

i got the 25 top 7/8 931075-10 venom nd pressed the brass into it, and the 3/4 45tooth 931076-008 from venom and 7/8 hyvo chain from STM...90 pitch for 184.00 gears are $60-70.00 at venom
total 320-350.00 for total pkg ... way cheaper

Scott Taylor shows to have a 25 tooth hyvo gear for 7/8" (15 link wide) hyvo chain. IDK. My experience is ST gears are very expensive. Looks like $529 per set. MUCH cheaper to use Cat or Yamaha gears. I think Cat is lowest?
