broken suspension

well im a big kid 6'5 270 dealer told me its gonna keep breaking. i need something dependable i absolutely love the sled i cant be worrying about it breaking on the trail

i think im gonna ask 5000 for it. about 3000mi float plate, excell block off plate, radiator cover, 1.5in free ride warantee till 2013

It won't break if you brace it. Also if you are that big you HVAE TO increase the high speed damping in the center shock that will tremendous help the issue. Shocks valved wrong is what causes a majority of this. There is tremendous stress when the from arm bottoms hard.

I agree.Get the shocks valved right for you and it wont break especially with reinforcements.ALOT cheaper than a new sled which you may have do same thing to.

Yup revavle is the best and cheapest mod you can do to any new sled!!!

I know I am posting in a number of placed, but has Yamaha warrantied any of your arm replacements? I know you all were hoping to get yamaha to help out.

I still have YES on my 07 till 2011, but the dealer is saying they will not help out.

What number can I call at Yamaha?

Thanks so much!

yea for some reason the yes warranty turned to a no warranty for the 07 guys that spent the 500 to have it extended, so i would say now theyre warranty is as worthless as theyre engineering

Mine was all replaced under the YES Warrantee.Dealer took care of it with Yamaha so try them first. If not satisfied you call customer relations.

Quick update. I called customer relations and spoke to a specialist.

He was very clear that YES will pay for the repairs if it is determined as defective. So the dealers tech will need to call into Yamaha tech support and discuss that determination.

Mine broke at the welds near the cross bolt. It's not sheared off like Fraolib's photo showed. Mine is still connected to the cross bolt, but the welds almost look like they gave way.

So, my dealer agreed that they don't care who pays and will make the call and plead my case. I already agreed to the full suspension upgrade kit, so if they can cover the parts, I will more than likely be spending it in the shop with them anyway.

Wish me luck!

My dealer wpoukd not replace the steel link to billet last year and it is now NFG. centre shock was rubbing the track last year and now that it broke thismorning has dug into the track. I think yamaha and toyota are in bed together and hoped for it all to blow away in the wind. Im not impressed and will likely be selling mine, too much wrench time no play time.

Now that season is over and I want to get a couple more good rides in breakes.
