This is something I don't think about often enough. Wear limit is 7.5mm. Mine are 4 and 5mm. Ordered replacements. Should arrive next week.

brakes

Add to change mine for the second time this year but the old girl does have 20000km...

LOL, I asked this question a couple years ago about changing brake pads and everyone said, because of the engine braking, the last a very long time.

I did look at mine and there did seem to be plenty of pad left, but I think I will double check them again just to make sure?

Mine look like they have a lot of material left. I just happened to have my manual open and checked the specs. I pulled my pads out and they are in bad shape. Falling apart and wearing the rotor a bit.

Hey Helmic, That has got to be the nicest looking Apex on this site.
Great to see you use it as well, and that it isn,t just a garage queen. :4STroke:

That will happen when you ride with the parking brake on. ;):D

Parking brake is a separate mechanical unit on Yamaha sleds.

I know... it was a joke. ;)!

Engine braking certainly does preserve brake pads. I rarely ever get sleds in that have excessively worn pads. With that said if anyone needs some I got lots of good used sets here.
