I know during the break in period on my REV it ran richer which limited my RPM's and thus my performance, after about 500 miles or so the sled was able to tach higher. Do these new 4 strokes have that issue or is what you see is what you get. I plan on taking it easy a little during break in but I was just wondering if there was any issues with the sled running diffrently in the beginning or not

Sparky, there was never a chip in the REV's. The ECU was told to retard the timing a few degrees so the machine would actually run a little richer for the first hour or 8 hours? of break in. (I believe it's only the first hour). I don't even think you could even feel it once the timing advance itself to where it should be. Also, this would not in no way would have affected your RPM.

Nothing like that in the Yamaha's. Same ECU settings with 1 mile on it as it would be if you had 10,000 miles on it.
