I just pulled the cover to check on how much mud it took on after a swim.....Not bad at all...Not enough to regrease the rollers....Then comes the dumb part....I rinsed the pulleys off gently with a garden hose...and now see water in the front pulley cover... Will that water go into the grease? Do I need to disassemble it to regrease and get the water out now?

No big deal, but FYI if water gets sprayed in there, it does end up in the grease. Glad I changed out the grease......

ya...they will get wet from time to time...the real problem is mud. Always a good idea to change the grease as long as you have it apart.

Hi!
My local Yamaha dealer/workshop here in Finland told us that there is no need to use any grease in rollers!?!
This really confuses me because it seems that all of you are talking about greasing those rollers every time when clutch is opened.
For now I believe that you are right. Besides It is allso written to the worksop manual.
BTW on manual there is two type mentioned: Grizzly grease in primary sheave and Bel-Ray lube in secondary sheave.
Do you have any info where to get these from. As i told you: My dealer don't know anything...
