I’ve posted on here before about this issue but im still have problems. Basically when i hit 15-20mph something happens, its like im stuck at 15 until i hit the throttle and get up to 25mph, then everything was fine. Well now its still happening but its also happening at higher speeds. I talked to a friend today and he mentioned maybe its the ramps on the secondary or the weights getting stuck on the primary. Thoughts?

when did you last clean/service your clutches?

if you have an air compressor, not a tire inflating cigaret lighter one, put a set of goggles on with a dust mask and use a blow gun on the clutches until no dust comes out of them in any position with the blow gun. then take it for a ride and see if it made a difference.

Check the primary weights for notches/grooves. Common on higher mile/hour 3 cylinders.

Check the secondary cam buttons also. They could be completely worn or broken.

Ok, haven't had a chance yet. What is the next step if that doesn't work?

All good comments here.

Check the springs for being broken, check the plastic ramps on the secondary and make sure the belt is in good condition. I pm'ed you back also ;)!

I have a general idea about everything you all are talking about, but I am learning. If you all have time to add details on how to do some of that or send a link to something. I have looked over NOS Pros threads which are pretty darn indepth though.

when the belts wear the dust they shed goes into the clutches causing them to bind up or stick. blowing them out at least a couple of times a year helps to keep them from binding/wearing with the dust.

there comes a point, milage/hours wise, where the bushings in the rollers and weights wear out and need to be replaced. if the rollers stick, they get flat spotted and cause the weights to wear funny.

some motors cause the weight to bounce on the rollers causing lines on the weights witch cause odd shifting/operating issues. weights should be smooth along where the roller contacts for the most part as there are some weights built with a bit of a notch at the idle area from factory or for racing.

That does make sense. I just blew a crap ton of dust out and now im going to finish xleaning the secondary. The primary feels rough to the touch.
