I am looking for rider reviews on how these sleds do in the corners... tight twisties... and rough trail.

Its awesome but you have to corner different than other sleds you almost have to do it more streetbike style ,takes a little more body english

Like these guys said its a whole different animal than what you are used to with the older sleds that "feel" like they corner. If there is a berm use it.Throttle control and body english is critical.Once you get it down pat you will find that the sleds like SxR,SRX,ZR's etc. really arent going through the corners as fast as they seem to think. If they are sliding back end around and spinning like feels fast on them you will be catching them in the corners.
Now if its a sweeping big corner and they can hook up and rail it they will pull away.

Well i'd be coming off a zr and i'm trying to decide bw a tnt and a phazer. The tnt's corner effortlessly which is why i was leaning that direction... i know there are pros and cons to both but cornering is a big the way we ride... tight corners and the sweepers. anyone been on any combo of these three sleds to compare??

Once you get the hang of how to ride the Phazer you will really like it. The more you ride it the better it feels.

I rode last years TNT and I got to admit it handled very well.Felt almost as flat as the SRX.Suspension handled the big holes but was not linear like the Phazer where it is plush and uses full stroke of travel.TNT was a little harsh on small stuff.

handling

I was undecided betwween the 08 Ski-Doo 550 fan X and the Phazer (same price). Went for the Phazer based on the four stroke and fuel injection. Big mistake! Do your self a favor spend an extra $1000 to $1500 and get a liguid cooled XP. I wish I could do it over. Steve.

I certainly would not trade my Phazer for a 550 rev, however I should have bought the TNT last year. :o|

Unless they replaced a vital organ with the Phazer I'm pretty sure you can. Its only money.

well said.................
I rode an 02 xc700 last year and think the phazer handles awsome, a little more body input id required. If you like razor sharp rail like turning u will find it on one of these. We have both tight and twisties as well as long fast sweepers.

I hate to get in a argument about this but Rail and Razor sharp are not words I would use when describing the handling of a Phazer on corners.I guess it depends on what kind of corner you are talking about. Was riding both Phazer and SRX this weekend. Here is what I found.

Corner Whooped out 6" or more=Phazer is absolutely awesome. You are in control on a phazer and can put sled anywhere you want all while going through these whoops bigger they are better it works. To me it seems a Phazer actually turn better in whoops than it does on flat.

Very tight single track corners 30mph or less=Phazer works very well feels much lighter than it actually is.

River=SRX.This River (West Twin) is about 80ft wide.Has a few good corners.I am not over exaggerating when I say I can corner the SRX at least 40mph faster around these corners than I can the Phazer. And that is with me hanging off the Phazer one foot in air doing everything I can to keep it from tipping.Any corners on a trail that are smooth and closely resemble what you find on a small river is same results.

I have notice mine seems like it pushes alot in the the corners. I lean and do all i can i, but is the inside ski still wants to lift. I do notice that when i break and the weight is transferred to the front more it helps keep the ski planted. I know my self my 99 V-max will corner better then the Phazer and they both have plastic Yamaha skis. I was think of softening up the front suspension a little to try and get more weight transfer in the corners.

the nature of the beast when you move the center of gravity up by adding suspension, moving the rider higher you are going to loose high speed cornering ability. my shelby mustang will out corner my truck no mater how much horse and how wide of tires put on it because the center of graity is about 2 ft higher which causes it to lean in the corners. we need to keep in perspective what the sled we are riding on are made for a sxr and or a vmax have a totaly diferent set up try riding a vmax on a whooped out trail all day and see how youre back feels. its a tit for tat do you want a F1 car or a baha truck?
