Let’s see that one. Maybe Ben will chime in and say which one to leave in here.Crazy
TD chart on website must be out of date
It shows different weights.
Will use this for reference
Thanks

If you set your weights in the range of 77 grams u will be close to set up for 16-16.9 boost. It will need fine tuning depending on spring set up. This should still work on lower tunes

Hey everyone, need help figuring out best option for TD tune bundle with stock muffler.
My bundle options are
Stock,230,250,260,max 16
I have Dalton QAY-70(70-77.4g)
Rest of sled is pretty much stock
Trying to figure out what best setting for the weights. I understand stock weights is about 72.4, I want to be able to cover the tunes 250 and up but don’t really want to have to change weights screws. Any advice would be great.
Also if anyone know of a video or step by step directions for changing the cam arms on sidewinder, please forward link.
Thanks in advance for input
it is impossible to cover all tunes without adjusting...you can load heavier for the max tune and lug the weight ....but it will feel flatter elsewhere....best option is to pick the tune you will run mostly and clutch to that at peak power and slightly over rev on the last higher tune....but then when you are on lower tunes...flatter

Wait... You aren't running the highest tune normally? What's the fun in that?it is impossible to cover all tunes without adjusting...you can load heavier for the max tune and lug the weight ....but it will feel flatter elsewhere....best option is to pick the tune you will run mostly and clutch to that at peak power and slightly over rev on the last higher tune....but then when you are on lower tunes...flatter

I have same ramps from Dalton, and have one midsize slug loaded in them,i may remove it,so it is at 73.8 grams, and may also run the Dalton blk/blu primary spring and secondary,i may try my Dalton 41/35 with my Dalton orange/blk spring at 60 degrees,or stock 35 helix with same spring set at 60 degrees as well. Ben any thoughts??I’m running Dtya-1 empty 73.8g and it’s too much for Ecotrail. I would start at 72g and add from there. I’m hoping Max 16 will pull ~9000 and I’ll leave it alone then.

TD posted this on their facebook page 09 Sept. Its kinda hard to find so this is probably a good place to record it. I see Ben mentioning STM clutches lately but throughout for the Yam clutches he has been recommending the 35 helix. I'm interested in getting a Dalton 35 but would there really be any difference from the stock 35?Yes the difference is Dalton helix are all cut so no coil bind, but if you have stock helix, try Dalton secondary spring set at 60 degrees. You have his max 16 on a MSM?

Snobeast. I am running stock muffler tunes. Eco, PT, and Max Spool 16. I have the Turbosmart BOV and.3 bar sensor and stock air intake. I have TDs clutch springs and Dalton weights but stock helix.

Are you sure the weights empty are not 73.6 daltons site states they are 73.6 to 81 loaded up,have you any way of checking your max pressure once WO to see how high it goes? I understand now with his tune you can check it on one of our gauges, and it states what is in real pressure. I have a pressure gauge set up on my muffler, but it always seems to read high,i do understand a modified muffler will build more boost,as mine is MSM now, last year I ran a Dalton 3" but with this tune now,it would overboost and may give me more lights, and retard timing,so I sold it,and had woody do me up a msm and the td max 16 tune, with bov and 3 bar sensor.Snobeast. I think so. I took this picture to remember it.
The Max16, BOV and 3 bar sensor are new this year. Zero miles yet. For whatever reason my flasher and tunes last year did not have the data-logging active. I won’t be able to report until I get to ride this year.
ÉDIT IDK Pete I’m going check my weights tomorrow. I have a note I wrote from last year stating 73.9g.

Were those ramps completely empty, once up to camp I will have to reweigh my dtya-1 ramps empty,i have same scales as yours, how did it run last year,on PT with that set up,did you run Dalton secondary spring org/blk at 70 degrees with your stock helix? At what rpms did it run best at?View attachment 143642

My recollection is I left them empty as advised as a starting point and took that picture for reference.
Stock helix. TD clutch kit (Dalton black teal primary, black orange secondary set to 60). My rpms were low ~8600.

Last year I ran the DTYA's empty with PT SQ. Also ran them empty with PT SM, but RPM's were a little under optimum with that setup.
