Can any body tell me what a Dealer has to do to prep a New Vector. The reason I ask is that the handle bars seemed to be set real low (in my lap), also I found my rear axle nut backed out to just 2 threads remaining on bolt, axle was real loose. I bought this from a Dealer that has been in business 30 years and has a great reputation. I am a little disappionted in the prep. The sled is the best I have ever owned. I will e talking to the Dealer tomorrow. :yam:

handlebars can be adjusted with 2 bolts. they can adjust them for you or you can do it, so dont get mad about that

loose parts are a real problem though...

I adjusted handle bars to my liking but after discovering the rear axle nut I started thinking about the way the handel bars where when I took delivery. I am disappointed with the Dealer. I was not able to talk to him the other day but will very soon. I feel they should know. They may have a new person doing prep or maybe they just made a mistake. The good thing is I found it and fixed befor any damage was done and I had a accident. This is the best sled I have ever owned.

Well I took my sled to the dealer for the first 500 mile check (FREE). I asked the service manager about the clutch noise and befor I could get the question all out he stated it was normal. I stated I understand there is a fix for the noise. No, this is normal. I also explained to him about the loose axle nut. He stated he has seen four of these and now when a new sled comes in for service they back off the axle nut and apply locktite and retorq to specs. I do not buy it. I believe the Dealer is supose to set the track tension when preping the sled. I cannot believe he told me that there was no fix for the clutch noise. I am beginning to wonder if I made a mistake in my purchase from that Dealer. I will ask again. Is there any one on this site that works at a dealer and can tell me what is done on a sled prep?

Depends, did the dealer try to hit you with setup charges? A lot of them do. If they did, them certainly complain. If you talked me out of it to save money like I did, my responsiblity to look over the sled real well (although mine was ok). Good luck.

T :rocks:

Check your paperwork that came with your sled. mine came with a checklist a mile long.track adjustment is one of the items.

The dealer is supposed to give the filled out and checked off checklist to the customer as part of delivery. If you really want to know what the prep steps are, there are seperate publications for each model. I don't know off the top of my head the publication number for your sled, but ask your dealer to see his copy. The numbers should be in the 2005 Tech Update manual as well.

Please note, my info may be out of date as I don't mess with that stuff much any more.
