Pics from our trip "up North" between Christmas and New Years, 2005.
Six of us went. My brother-in-law Kenny ("Doc") and his son Jon, Randy ("Earl") Goetsch, Dan Moody, my son Buddy and me. Great time had by all! Three Yami's (the two young boys on RX-1's, me on the RS Venture), 2 Polaris (including a new 800 Switchback), 1 Ski-Doo.
We trailered to Two Harbors, Minnesota (about 27 miles North of Duluth). Overnighted there and then "backpacked" 150 miles on snowmobiles up to Grand Marais, Minnesota. Next day we rode up to the Canadian border and back to Grand Marais (about 120 miles round trip). Last leg of the trip we rode 150 miles back to Two Harbors. Got up the next morning and came home.
All told - 400 mile one way drive to Two Harbors. Put 400 miles on the sleds, then 400 mile drive home ;-)

The following pics were taken from the window of the "Gunflint Lodge" on Gunflint Lake, Minnesota. They put feed out for the deer and the deer aren't afraid to come out of the woods and come right up to eat. Pretty cool.

I love this sport! I'd take 3-day weekends every winter weekend if I could
