Well guys i'm a happy camper :-o , Last night i dynoed the sled With Hurricane Racing and Advance Dnyo out of Prescott Ontario. First off let me tell you Dave Marshal is very knowledgeable and professional. He answered all my questions that i had and made me feel comfortable at the same time ;)! . He asked what goal i had in mind with the sled and i told him that this year i want to run around 15lbs on pump gas and have confidence in the sled. The motor is all stock except for the 10mm ARP head studs and Water Meth injection. We did about 6 full pulls and 2 partial pulls. After my first real and last ride last winter with the new sled I was worried that i might have did something to the motor because i seen my Parker knock box going off, Dave proved on the dyno that the knock box was too sensitive and the vibrations from the motor at 15 pounds would set it off, i turned the boost right down to start over again this year.
Dave first went over the sled and the meth injection to make sure all 4 nozzels were spraying properly, and i did have one that was plugged and not spraying right. (this is routine maintence if the sled sits for awhile.)
The first Pull on the dyno netted around 204HP @ 12lbs of boost and was really rich. The next pull at 15lbs was about 253hp give or take. We played with the jet in the charge tube to lean the sled out a bit and the last pull we netted 302.5hp @ 18lbs spike then levels off to 16lbs and my goal was reached :4STroke: . Dave said that we could get more out of the sled but i was more than happy with 302.5HP. (See the attacted picks)
Just to let you guys know i'm new to the turbo world so if you have any questions i know Dave will step in if i can't answer them.
A big Thank-you to Dave i can't say that enough. This is going to be a fun Winter, when i tried it last year it was 250HP i can't wait to pull the trigger on 300HP :jump:

You will love beeing a member of the 300+ HP club :)

It was a good night for everyone. The first thing that sticks out in my mind is the fun that we all had last night. Bendersrx is A BLAST to work with and I'm really looking forward to seeing him again on the ice this winter. He is horse power greedy.(just the way I like him)LOL. It's always a good feeling when I see goals for HP reached out of a little tuning.
The other thing,,,,Cliff from Advanced Dyno and I go back along way and I'm sure that we will be friends for the rest of my life.I'm proud to say that I've just seen a transition in Cliff. He has been working hard on the Dyno facilities to focus more on Dynoing sleds. Job well done. Now,coupled with his Dyno skills, his facilities are pleasant and very user friendly for sled dynoing. In this case, where else can a guy go and have their sled tuned for under $400 bucks.

Is this at sealevel?

What is your jetting (mainjets, pilots, fuel screw, carbsprings and pitotjet)?

Fuel pressure 4,5-5psi at idle?

Guess skydog will miss his "old baby" after reading the results from the dyno.

Here,s hoping all your staights are long and corners are wide buddy, hiting the trigger on that beast is going to shorten them up

Thanks guys i will keep this post updated after I get some miles on her, I can't wait.
Dave i did have a blast night, it will be a night i will never forget LOL, I couldn't sleep when i got home i was still too excited i think i fell asleep around 2am.
TT, we are at about 374 feet above sea level. The carb settings i really don't know because we did not dive into the carbs, we tuned from jet in the charge tube, we went from a 400 jet to i think to around a 700. Based on what i read from skydogs posts looks like 135 on the mains, 17.5 on the piolts, 2.5 turns out on the scews and the needles are stock. Maybe if skydog reads this he can tells us what he has done to the carbs.
snowy1, Dave wanted to ajust the carbs tonight and bring the power up from 8000rpm but i was happy enough, and i do believe it is measured after the gear reduction.

Just talk to Dave on the phone and my meth kit is on the way .Thanks Dave for your time and help. This man will help out any one who want s to learn about the 4 stroke meth kit. Thanks again big time.

Love it when things are tuned right. Congrats!

Didn't know we had that kind of shop in the Ottawa area.

Hurricane Racing and Advance Dyno. So they're two separate shop that work together? Do they also work on 2/4 strokes engine repair? Track/suspension installs?

It was a good time for sure, Bendersrx is great guy and fits in well with all us power junkies.LOL

Over all a gain of 100hp is a nice touch and should be good for some major pucker factor the first time Trevor lights the wick on a long straight of ice.LOL

phatboyc:

We both have our own shops, but we work together on dyno tuning for 4 stroke turbo applications.

Dave's shop does turbo installs as well as 4 stroke engine rebuilds and upgrades and I do the dynoing for his turbo customers,

My shop on the other hand does 2 stroke rebuilding and repair as well as most other types of repairs, installs and upgrades to sleds and 4 wheelers.

Can't wait to see some of you guys on the ice this winter and see some of these sleds lay down some #'s
