Earth X battery, which one?

I like it! Need to replace my Shori Lithium that gave up the go last season, this will fit the bill well. That Shori lasted me 8 years! I found when going back to the stock battery my rear suspension bottomed quite a bit more it was so heavy compared to the Shori Lithium. People might not think 12 lbs makes much of a difference, but it does to me in the suspension department alone.
Thanks for the feedback Mike. I hadn't tried the Shorai yet, but I was wanting to test it this winter. Guess I have no need to worry as you just confirmed it's good.
I agree on the weight too. 10 pounds matters.

Do you need a special tender and charger?

I never charged the Shorai other than on the snowmobile. They hold a charge better than a lead acid and I never felt the need.

Which one did you use? My Kimpex catalogue lists the LFX36L3-BS12(540cca) as the replacement for YTX20HL-BS and the LFX21A6-BS12(315cca) as a replacement for YTX20L-BS.
The H in the YUASA battery stands for high performance, the batteries are otherwise identical.
I'm leaning towards the LFX21, as the other is much more expensive.

I took the plunge and purchased the EarthX. I will keep everyone informed as to my experience.

Think I'm going to order the ETZ14C too. If it lasts as long as my old did Shorai it will be worth it. Also the EarthX has cell balancing built in where the Shorai did not, so by rights the EarthX should do even better. Plus the Shorai had whimpy poor lightweight terminals on it that would bend when tightening down the bolts, the EarthX looks much more robust at the terminal bolts.

Mine is on it's 4th year & still cranks the motor faster than stock battery.
The problem is my skinny AZZ needs the weight back there so i "have" to carry 3 gallons of gas on the back to make up the weight

I have used an EarthX battery in my Apex since they first became available. I have not had a no-start issue yet because of the battery.
I will definitely replace my Sidewinder battery with a EarthX when it requires replacement.

I ordered the
ETZ14C
Which was recommended by EarthX

Some have said the ETX36D is also the one for the Winder...so which one is the better option for the Sidewinder/or Snowmobile application?

I emailed Earth X and here was their response.

From our FAQ section:

What is the difference between the ETX36C or the ETX36D and the ETZ14C for my snowmobile?

The ETX36C/D has 320CCA; weighs 3.9 pounds; has 12.4Ah capacity and has the full battery management system with a 2 year warranty. The cost is $349.

The ETZ14C has 330CCA; weighs 2.5 pounds; has 6.8Ah capacity and has the battery management system minus over discharge protection and excessive cranking protection so it will not cut off in cold weather starts with a 1 year warranty. This battery was designed for high cranking amps in the cold. The cost is $249.

The ETX36C and the ETZ14C are both the exact same physical size but it is smaller than the ETX36D.

I'll be ordering the 14C. We carry a Genius battery booster and we have successfully manually started an Apex for days once on a tour.

May be 3.9 in the package. But 3.13 ready to install. I picked it up as its same size as OEM and about 9 pounds lighter. No fabing anything to compensate for a smaller battery. Had many lightweight batteries in the ole SCApex. Cold days initial start most always had to use jump box. Im sure lithium different story, but wasn't risking it without more reviews. Had a lithium in my atv for years zero issues. Smaller, lighter, cheaper, more cca….Im in if they actually get good reviews vs. how they suppose to perform. One season on the 36D, zero issues, zero need for jump box.
My jump box is small and packable, but prefer not to need it for use on my own sled. Prefer to bail out my buddy's.

Update on m EarthX. Well, I have zero miles on my sled this year. I went out a couple of weeks ago to start the sled to make sure everything was running as it should The temps had been in the single digits for most of the week. I cycled the key as told. The sled turned over faster than normal, but for some reason the sled would not fire after cranking 3-4 times. The engine started turning over slower and it finally fired. I did not think I would have enough battery to start the sled and i would have to go and get my jump pack. It did not give me the warm and fuzzies. I have a trip planned over the next couple of weeks that should give me more data to digest. Any thoughts?
