Wow nice job RockerDan. In FAQ under problems and fixes.

Also all the Pyramid bolts. Use red and check every season.Dan,if you have not reinstalled that C clamp back onto the header flex pipe,do yourself a favor, red locktight that ave nut,as it backed off mine out in the willie wacks, and had to have it spot welded togeather to continue to ride. For some reason my old clamp NUT must have been bad new,but if its already off, just a tad of locker wont hurt.

FYI while we are on the topic of coolant leaks check your hoses from thermostat to turbo and turbo to engine oil cooler had 2 customer sleds leaking from these 2 hoses..most all the coolant clamps needed a turn or 2 to tighten up

Who makes that header, didnt think that was going to be a popular accessory since the oem header is so short and efficient.

Ya I wondered the same thing. Header Looks like it has quite a bit more volume than the stock header. Theoretically it will slow the response time of the turbo, but who knows in the real world.

Gotta love that Arctic Cat build quality and how much Yamaha helped them improve it? Not.

You and I and a few others, and those are just the ones I've heard of. Its too bad the people in TRF cant just tighten all the hose clamps on these sleds better...I mean its a turbo, and depends on tight clamps for consistent boost...not too mention coolant hoses that are impossible to get at without tearing half the sled apart...LOLGreat write up and pictorial as always Dan, I had this exact same leak last week that I had to fix!

I dont think its too bad if in a hurry, I had lots of time so I took my time. Having the lift now makes working on the sled a pleasure, and no more sore back. But now that ive done it, I would think i could do it again pretty fast.Dan, thanks, How many hours in this little hose clamp project?
Just knowings where to disconnect the fuel line, and where to lay it out of the way, and battery lines ect...and the two fuel vent lines on top left of tank, one I slid the clamp down and the other I pulled the elbow out of gromit.

Hurricane did lots of testing on their header, alot of new power to be had, and next year I can see myself adding a header possibly.Ya I wondered the same thing. So much comes down to the people putting these sleds together in TRF on assembly line. I think this is where so many dumb issues get created. I mean tightening critical hose clamps to where they were barely finger tight is just so bad. I bet I could have loosened those small hose clamps adjuster bolts by hand, that's how barely tight mine were.Gotta love that Arctic Cat build quality and how much Yamaha helped them improve it? Not.

Its like they must be too weak to tighten clamps at the factory..lolFYI while we are on the topic of coolant leaks check your hoses from thermostat to turbo and turbo to engine oil cooler had 2 customer sleds leaking from these 2 hoses..most all the coolant clamps needed a turn or 2 to tighten up

Guys its not like the assembly workers actually do any of this by hand. Its all done using powered drivers and they are to a certain torque. In most cases spring type clamps or the Oetikers are better since they can expand and contract with temp. I had a new leak this year on one I never did. 10000mi after assembly. Its crazy.

Has anyone tried Gates power grip clamps for sled applications. This style of clamp has been around a while but a lot of people aren’t aware of it. More suited to commercial applications but could be used anywhere a typical hose clamp could be used. Just Google it and watch the videos. The video that is about 9 minutes long is quite informative. I believe you can get them from NAPA or possibly Carquest.
Oh, by the way, after reading this topic I took a look under my sled and sure enough I noticed green drops hanging off the bottom plate. I will be having my dealer check this out and between us we will decide if we should use the Gates clamps. I will let you know with pictures when that happens.
