Wondering what everyone is doing for adding extra wheels to their phazer mtx skid to help save the slides. Going to have the kids and wife on it and know they will not keep it in enough snow all the time. Looking for options to make them last a little longer.

Thanks,

kirk

I changed my slides tonight and I think I may add a few wheels between the gap from the front wheels to the rear wheels, my slides were hardly wore accept in the midle spot where there arent wheels and that was just about wore through. I trail ride mine most of the time.

slide kick ice scratchers are an option and you don't have to worry about them gettin wrecked when backing up. $70 pair. Picked up a set for my 08 this year but haven't tried them yet but look like a real good product. :brrr:

Yamaha makes a low snow ice wheel kit. They are smaller and you can mount them anywhere you like on the rails, even inside or outside of rails. I use 2 sets and have no more problems.

I bougt mine with the 2 extra small wheels in the front, They have a little mounting block that mounts to the rail like you said. Where did you mount yours. I just toasted my slides in 500 miles and I stoped quite often kicking snow on them but a fully clipped track may help too ive heard. My homemade ice sratchers broke (i backed up with them down) but I got thwm back on so that should help but these sleds just werent designed to run trails from the factory...

I'll have a post up later today about adding extra wheels, the UPS guy dropped my parts off yesterday and I'll be taking pictures as I install my setup. It cost me ~115$ in parts but I will have FULL size idlers and not the little dinky "add a wheels" kit they sell for 89$
