Looking for best option for trail riding, not racing. Currently running 24/50 gearing and tried 21/41 in the past. I had stock TEAM primary and was probably getting a bit of slip. Now with the TAPP, its so much smoother and much better shifting, no slip so wondering about changing gearing to 21/41 or even 22/41. I know most people run 22/41 with the winders, but just wondering about this gear with the TEAM secondary? Thoughts?
Should add that its tuned with Max spool 17 so I guess around 280hp. Ripsaw 2, 1.5 inch track which may affect things as well

1.5 inch track = 24/50 your clutches & belt will be way happier than 21/41. Every sled that runs through my shop with a 1.5" track gets the 24/50 gearing regardless of what clutches are on it.

Good to hear! Will actually be switching to the 1.3 ICE Arrowhead later this season. Should I stick with 24/50 or go to 21/41 or 22/41? if your a ditch basher or lots of tight trails. 24/50 is 2.08 ratio@ 118mph @12% OD and diggs trenchs, but with deeper track lug will yank your arms corner to corner, i run alot of northern quebec trails that are cruiseing at 80-85mph, sooo 25/45 =1.80,=136mph@12%OD gives great fuel economy and works perfect all trails. i use the larger lightened gears as it allows chain to have less stress and ease of rotation, some run the 21/38 which i find is a tight turn for chain around the gear.

Stay 24/50. I know my tuned Sidewinder with a 1.75" track would not hold a belt with 21/41 and had I not put it back to stock and sold it, it would have gotten 24/50 gears.

This is my trail set up:
I run the stock Tcat gears with the TAPP Blue spring in my TAPP, and an 829 belt. More importantly, IMO is the secondary. I put a Ron Ward torsional kit in the secondary and everything is happy. Not sure the stock non torsional cat secondary lives well with the TAPP. As an FYI, I have about zero belt slip. I base this on seeing no belt dust, no marks on the clutch, and being able to grab the belt with my bare hand after a long pull. I also run the 225/240/270 Hurricane tune. The sled runs great and I am happy with it. I also noted my MPG go from 11/12 to 13/14 after upgrading the secondary. I assume this is due to better grip and less slip.
Hope this helps you.

I do have the Ron Ward conversion as well, forgot to mention that! Thanks for the input. And you are happy with top speed with stock tcat gearing? This is my trail set up:

I see about 120mph. Good enough for me. I chased mph with my old 1100 mod stock turbo. 300 hp, geared taller, cams, etc etc. It was fun. Being quick to 120 is also fun. Its always about personal choice. Right now I am happy with what I am doing. I am sure that will last until someone irks me into going g the other way to chase speed again.
