High power stock muffler tunes generate a ton of back pressure , that is proven.
That's why we took a long time and lots of trail miles before releasing our max spool 16 sm.
The long term effects of heat worried me but it turns out it was fine on our tune. But it's nice to confirm it with long trail rides before selling to everyone. We have many customers that are willing to test new beta tunes and send us logs of their trail rides.


Don't worry Ben - there are lots of Testing of the Hurricane tunes - You know we test - just have to try to knock others down all the time. Lots of smart people choose Hurricane for a reason!!
 
I'm in Ontario Ben and will test anything you throw at me!;)!
Testers must have the flasher and datalogging enabled as well as a wideband o2 module. If you have these requirements welcome to the test team.
 
At 270 hp tunes , I really wonder how many guys here really use all the power on the trail ... and have there sleds set up right to use all the power ??? One company making 5 hp more really isn't that big of deal ....

I know you do Rob test a lot we race together too right ?. But how can you say this of brand new tunes. ?

I don't have an exact figure. Lots of testers I don't have their exact mileage. But some testers have over 5000km on that tune. Flawless so far.

How much real world snow testing of the stock muffler 270hp tune has been done?

I don't have an exact figure. Lots of testers I don't have their exact mileage. But some testers have over 5000km on that tune. Flawless so far.
Ok 5000+km and the stock muffler is holding up, should be a good seller.

This is typical....... no exact figures, no exact proof -....... just lots of rumors and hearsay of other vendors.................. really want to get into this again this year??? Let your product speak for itself and quit trying to pull your competitors down. It doesn't look good. If they have problems it will show. There are good products out there and let the customer decide. Its not your job to "save" the world

Coming from a tester and racer for Ben, he is willing to help and make changes but has always made sure to be as safe as possible on everything he gives me and gives safety guidelines to follow. This is why I have no problem running any new tune Ben has that I want to try out and running my sled to it’s full potential. I have used nearly every tune ben has ever offered, even some of the specialty or outdated ones. It’s the only way to have knowledge enough to recommend what people will be happiest with.

It is a big seller which is why I understand others wanting to get in the market too.
This was developed for the Quebec guys the new laws are very strict huge fines for upgraded mufflers there.

Ok so it’s safe to say the stock muffler holds up to the extra heat. I always thought these mufflers were heavily restricted due to epa, emissions etc. Nice to know they can take that kind of power, I would have lost that bet

It's your job to sell hurricane stuff. Its my job to promote my stuff and explain our advantages not to save the world.

Why did you guys react so bad to the observation that these are new tunes not yet tested on snow ? This is just obvious...and not a bash. But you took it as such.

No matter the exact mileage it's still better than zero.
I can tell you a few testers that have run it. We didn't tally the exact number...
One guy who ran it is also on this board I sent him a message so he comes here gives his opinion on the tune and his testing. Most are Quebec guys that speak French and are not in this board. Those guys run the most miles and are the worst abusers of sleds.thats why I use them for testing they really like to hold it wot for Long pulls.

Honestly me too. I was very surprised at what we made with this tune. Even the top speed is impressive. Very surprising.
It actually slowed our muflfer sale many just say why do I need a muffler now ?

With a muffler you get better fuel economy and more power. We are now as the 285 to 290 hp on 91 with a highflow muffler ...Crazy.... and with the super cooler and intake even more but we have not dynoed those mods yes but race testing shows a big gain. Et and mph
