Flash Update Coming Fall-2016

It must be because it's two different companies.
Chrysler and GM used to sell products that were manufactured by overseas corporations, products that were also sold in the US by those other manufacturers. And those products sold in the US by US companies under different names and did not have different EPA approvals.

But you are correct as Yamaha renumbered every AC part so they could put them into their Bill of Material system for spare and repair part as well as the ,as built, configuration. Hard to prove the configuration match to the Feds and continually show the coordination across updates and BOMs.

Or it could just be that this is a rolling test. Bit at a time to see results and reaction. May never know why the delay here. Could also just be that they are incompetant since exact same scenario is being played out with the 16 Rod update. No EPA certification is needed for that!

Exactly!!!

Just took my sled for a quick rip from all the snow we had over night and today. Didn't ride long and its night so didn't record all my AFR readings. But I did however notice the most important one...WOT.

Last season I had mine running 11.5-11.8 all winter long. Obviously sometimes richer in the warmer days! Tonight it is only -4 Celsius out and my WOT numbers are 11.8-12.2. I didn't touch a thing on my GEMS and it's not cold enough to effect my AFR's that much. I will be adjusting my GEMS accordingly once it's day light out!

Duhn duhn duhn.....

Why would they touch the top end tune? :o|

I was thinking the same thing! I will try richening up top end on my GEMS to make sure it's not a fueling issue on my sled before I blame the new flash.

Has anyone else been able to record AFR's yet while riding? I'd like to compare :)

Ok so....

Went out for a 20km ride, nothing crazy I know. Parked it in the laneway and shut the sled off (73* Celsius engine temp). Went in the garage, took my helmet off, went out and brushed the two sleds off before bringing them inside. Was probably about 5-8 mins of the sled sitting off. Go out to start my sled, I let the ignition cycle....and guess what. The BLEEPING thing wouldn't start. Would just spudder every revolution. Let off and tried again letting the ignition cycle...still nothing. I tried again and it finally started. Looks like they only fixed the kick back issue and not hot start issue.

I'm going to go out in a few mins and not let the ignition cycle and see how it starts.

EVO will be getting my business next season.

Did not flash 16 yet. But as far as start between old and new flash mine 17 first start warm from garage took 2 tries as it has. Once running only one. Wife's 16 always one but pulsing idle. Now left them outside last night. Mine started cold first try? And once all day. Not sure if it means anything or not.
