Flash Update Coming Fall-2016

Its to the rich side. But these sleds run better at low rpm rich. You arent making any boost at 2500rpm right?

So I'm just a little leaner than yours I guess. It's richer than it was when I drove it into the dealer, so I guess I'm in the safe zone anyway!

Could be Yamaha wont richen up the idle because of emissions. Those of us with tuners arent saddled by that.

Mine idles really well at 12.5 when warm, 11ish cold right after start up. It's really smooth up to engagement which is 2750rpm and holds the 12.5

well I called my dealer and they are not able to do the new flash... the service guy I guess tired what I told him and it didnt work and he called the Yamaha rep for our area and they said the same thing-its not available yet. Then I called one of the biggest dealers in Maine, Woodys, and they were much more knowledgeable about what was going on and they were at the Yamaha meeting that was last month. They said that they are not able to do it yet and that Yamaha was working one and will be available soon. But its just funny how many people are on here because each guy I talked to said they had a bunch of people ask the same thing that there should be a new flash available. So no one in my area that I know of can do it.

I just had both sleds updated. No issue at start up fired up first try on both sleds. I did wait till the fuel pump cycled however.
I did not notice any better idle.

I had my 15' XF7000 flashed by AC. Drive it 40 minutes home in the bed of the truck, 28 degrees F. outside temp, it started right up, I did wait for the pump to prime. I always wait for the pump to prime, just like I did with my Nytro. I'donly been around the field a few times prior to the re-flash but it seemed to start a little quicker. The idle seemed the same.

Started mine today it's -20c and -35c with windchill, started up flawlessly I think the new flash is doing its job

I spent some time at our dealer yesterday and talked to Tracy for quite a while. He did do his due diligence and verified that the update he offered you and loaded into my Viper is the new SW drop.

Just like other dealers they too were concerned about releasing the new SW, and Yamaha is still saying they know nothing. However, they have it on the official Yamaha site and it is available to download on sleds that are loaded and approved for download on the Yamaha system.

Looking at the reason that they are taking so much time to get the approval has been problematic. Up front it does not make sense, but as I thought about it longer and traced the typical vehicle software approval process through my head it came to me that Yamaha has not had a Viper software release. All of the other entities are only submitting updates with modifications where as Yamaha is submitting a new software product for their Viper vehicles for the first time. I suspect that they may have tried to submit it as a change but got shut down and had to reapply as a new SW product. Typical Govt. process hurry up and wait!

Of course this is only my speculation, but it really is the only thing that I can think of that feels correct. I'm kind of ashamed it took me so long to put 2+2 together but I've been retired for 5 years now and...
This is the third time they are submitting. Once in 13 once in 15 and now. Unless I am missing something.

Make sure you guys all vote in the poll. Starting to feel a bit better about new flash.
Also it didn't start by just cranking the key with out letting the pump cycle first, had to let it cycle first then fired right up
