On vipers I have seen many reverse actuators that had cracks in the plastic housing where the screws secure the actuator to the chaincase. The sidewinders come with an aluminum shield mounted via these three holes. Beings the Vipers never got this shield I tend to believe it was intended for heat protection. I am curious if by tying the three bolts together via the shield it is preventing the bolts from flexing which in turn keeps the plastic from cracking.

So has has anyone had the tabs crack on a Sidewinder?
