How many "SE" owners installed the heated seat accessory? It's an expensive item from Yamaha to add, but I was able to get all the part numbers ala-cart from Cat to go at it from that angle to keep costs down.

Just want to read some comments from others whether to add or not. Thanks!

Never noticed when riding the Cats but on my Viper two or three times last winter I thought the nads were froze. No women around to warm them up either. Small price to pay versus getting caught with your hands in your pants on trail eh?

Price is $299 right? Not bad if you ask me.

Use the Port Yamaha parts discount and you will be under $260

Cat lists same part at $269, but I see conflicting notes about included cover and does not include cover. Yamaha listing says "includes laminated cover" as well as "professional installation recommended"

It sounds like they have a pocket in the cover to hold the element in place. Not sure how they attach the cover to the base. This is probably where a professional upholsterer would come into the mix.

Question, the heated seat create water from the snow that ends up on it? Here in the powder snow ends up everywhere.

the heater element sticks to the foam of the seat, and you run wire through a hole/cutout in the seat, then you re attach cover to seat frame. Very simple job to do.

Thinking about it. Sure is nice to have. are you using stock cover?

Nope. I would order all the necessary part numbers from Cat, minus the seat cover. I want to use the seat cover that's already on the machine. And yes, I would get an upholstery shop to install the heated element portion.

Thanks for the input guys. I didn't think about the wet seat part of having one. Something to think about I guess.

In the Northeast we get a good amount of freezing rain, rain, sticky snow etc., so for me it would be of little use. The real cold snaps have never been an issue.

If I had more cold and less moisture I am sure I would like it, I love the heated seats in the truck.

if your nerds are freezing, or your getting a wet bum boys instead of a heated seat i suggest higher quality bibs....I bought klim bibs last winter and omg its so nice never being wet or cold and guaranteed to never get you wet.

I used my heat seat 2 times and actually was surprised at the heat it does create, i could live without it but im sure one day it could be useful

Yup I went with MotorFist Bibbs and even at -35 found that ball sweat a problem If I added the seat heater I would have to add Gold Bond in the shorts!!!! or better yet..........
