Haven't done it myself yet but according to tech at dealership you can get it in by just removing staples from one side of seat. He said something about cutting a hole in the foam also. I thought that was there already though.

That is a good to know. I will try installing it like that and update how it works and if the hole is in the foam already.

I Installed it on my LTX-SE. It was an easy install, but I didn't do the seat portion. My seat had a hole in it from factory. So when my dealer replaced the seat, I had him add the heating element. I cut the switch hole out and wired the thing. I didn't like the idea of the wires proximity to the muffler. I ended up using silicone to glue the wires to the back of the tank, then used heat tape (metal duct tape) to cover the wires. Let me know if you have any questions beyond the cover portion...
I bought good Klim bibs 2 years ago. Best investment ever. I have a habit of wearing only under armor cold gear and a fleece thermals under my suit. That setup is warm enough to below zero. After last year, I got caught out one night when the temps plummeted into the -30s. I was chilled and I didn't have extra cloths on my new sled as there is no storage. My reason for the seat warmer is to add some extra heat on those really cold days or if not properly dressed... As for wet butt, get good bibs and you won't worry about it. I have not gotten wet in my Klim bibs despite a soaking rain... Watch out for swamp @$$ boys...

I just ordered this kit. What model staple gun do I need to reattach the cover? I've needed a strong gun for jobs like this in the past, but never got around to getting one, might as well get one now!

I've tried regular guns (a few of them) with no luck. ..it wouldn't penetrate the plastic. This was on an old SX Viper seat

Yamamarc is right- seat gets way too hot on high....I only use low and even then I switch it on and off frequently. No troubles here with wet butt. I enjoy it especially at night when temps are below 15.

I found the heated seat on low very helpful this last weekend in the UP with the rain. I had it off when the rain started up at Silver City, rode with a wet butt for a while alternating between standing and sitting. Switched the heat on and it dried the seat eventually and my lower unit. Otherwise, when it's teens or single digits I start the ride with it on low, then as I warm up I usually shut it off. Nice feature to have.

Only issue I found with mine was it took away from the bar and thumb warmer. I have a tough time with cold hands (I've tried every glove under the sun) and when you'd think you'd want to use the heated seat, its usually f#+&@# cold out. I'm starting to use the bar bags more to help but find they get in the way sometimes as I ride quite aggressively.

Have you tried the skinz hand guards? They work very well. ..I wear very light gloves with the skinz hand guards...let's you really feel your controls.Only issue I found with mine was it took away from the bar and thumb warmer. I had a upholster do mine. Dealer took care of it and cost was minimal.

If you have cold hands here are a few things that will help you out. First of all, undo the screw ends on each handle bar and put some spray foam in the ends. Then reinstall them. You will now believe how much better this is. It means you are not heating the air in the bar but the metal that acts as a heat sink. There is also a hole in the front of the handle bar that allows air to be force in and causes a venturi effect at the end of the bar constantly robbing heat. Second Ski Doo has the best handle bar muffs I have ever seen. They fit over hand protectors if needed and are not floppy. They also have a clear panel on the top so you can see the switches. They also only go slightly past your wrist so making hand signals is easy. A small can of black paint takes care of the labeling issue.

I have a 2016 LE and a 2016 DX, both came with the heated seat. That thing burns your #*$&@, literally. we have to shut them off for trail riding since we are sitting down for long periods of time. Off trail, your up and down off the seat, so your pants cool off a bit when standing.

How many "SE" owners installed the heated seat accessory? It's an expensive item from Yamaha to add, but I was able to get all the part numbers ala-cart from Cat to go at it from that angle to keep costs down.
Just want to read some comments from others whether to add or not. Thanks!

Been debating adding a heated seat to my Nytro for the cold days.
For those that have it, does it warm your back up much? Or mostly just toast your buns lol.

I have the heated seat on my sled and also for the last 6 years in my vehicles, and have never once turned them on. Funny story; about 6 years ago, the buddy I was riding with had his sled break down, so I rode back by myself to get his Jeep Cherokee and trailer to go pick him and his sled. On route to get him, the seat in his vehicle was getting to HOT for my a$$, and could not find the switch to turn it off. I stopped twice to get snow and put in on the seat to cool me off. Glad he had leather seats in the vehicle. Swore I would never buy heated seats, and I would not, but sometimes they are part of a bigger package.
