Here it is on a scale

Just a quick chime in on the throttle lag.... By far the best 1200 to date IMO.

As Mike says, lots of 1200 guys watching the SW. I for one have been a yammie/doo guy forever and when I tried a cat one time it was total junk in 2012, so the procross has a long way to go for me to take notice, but this new yammie masterpiece has me taking notes. If BRP does not step up with a turbo of their own, I may be back on TY someday again as a SW owner.

One thing is for sure, I wont own another cat due to warranty denial of too many things, and I wont own another 2s since my etec blew up the 2nd yr. But the 1200xs is a true masterpiece in handling and is very close to my etec in trail riding feel....with the incredible Rmotion and also so much grunt so I will be sticking with it for awhile with the new ECU flash, header and muff mod, will see how she runs.

How does a rear suspension with less overall travel (r-motion) not bottom out more than one with more travel (Viper)? That was my answer to my buddies when they couldn't understand why there bottoming out and I wasn't. I don't have much riding time on the rmotion but I'm not impressed from there comments about there ride quality.

Even the mighty R motion must have the X package at a minimum XRS shocks preferably to not bottom. I have seen it and felt it myself. Rides like a cloud and then totally collapses and bottoms seemingly without warning in a what I consider a mid size hole. I saw 2 guys in group have rear kick almost losing it 2 years ago. Now the XRS's well adjusted are amazing and do not require any adjustment once set correctly. They are plush in Chatter and can take any hole,g out or jump I have seen. Very broad range. Qs3 will require adjustment for conditions. Big ones (trail 8 on a sat) 3ft or so use 3. When smooth 2. I can adjust all 4 QS3's in less than a minute without even looking. Do it. To answer your question. Travel is measured by the shock for the Doo and bumper for the Viper. That's why travel number difference. How can R motion in XRS work so well is that it is a huge range that it does well.

You should know that BRP and Bombardier are not the same companies or even related any more... Bombardier was bought out quite a few years ago, and really it maters none to BRP. Have no idea why it would even mater here.

Just a quick chime in on the throttle lag.....the 16 and newer 120os with iTC have ZERO lag. By far the best 1200 to date IMO.

Glad you & Knapp are still on this site! Mad respect for both. 2 years ago i decided this was the year i could buy new. I gave ALL sleds a good look. I couldn't go back to 2-smoke & didn't want a Cat 1100 mostly because of your posts (thank you). I was waiting for Doo to supercharge that 1200. They didn't so here i am. I came to 4 conclusions: 1. 4-stroke 2. 150+ hp 3. newer suspension (came off '07 Apex) 4. didn't want to go crazy with aftermarket to get the power...Sidewinder it is. You 2 kids stay posted

Me too have been coming to and from Yamaha to BRP , and the 1200 X that was missing some power, so the sidewinder might just be the ticket... for now, sitting on my apex with aftermarket shocks and it does quite well, but can't wait to see and try the Sidewinder and see if BRP will have an answer to it...

my ltx se 137 is listed at 590 lbs. anyone know why the xtx is lighter?
This is disappointing. My 2014 LTX sheet said 532, with turbo should be no more than 562lbs. Should be even less than adding on a MPI turbo.

Really then tell me why there is a "BRP" badge on the front your Ski doo. :dead: or are you blind.

I have the same question as too your comments on here the last few years. Have no idea why they even matter here.

What are you guys smoking? my friend has a 12oo do 4s and my apex blows it out of the water in all aspects except suspension.lag this lag that you guys make me laugh!!!The doo 4s will never match yammie!!!

To digress: Bombardier, Inc. sold the rec vehicle part in '03 to a group, who is known as BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products). Part of BRP is still owned by the Bombardier family. They obviously make ski doo, but also can am, spyder, sea doo, Evinrude, Johnson (they acquired OMC), and Rotax.
But hey this is a Yamaha site. Let's talk how the Sidewinder will be better than anything any other sled company offers.

Doo is like the purse your old lady buy's because of the suspension, then looks inside and is amazed how many extra storage compartments it has.
