Anyway today was out onto a lake with about 10-12cms of snow. Absolute top the Apex could show on its speedometer was 157km/hr. It does have stock track with 162 studs. Only performance add-on would be an Ulmer's Stage 2 clutch kit.
How long were you running???
About 2 kms. Machine just came out of shop where it had some parts replaced on skid, front swing arm (W-arm) had some factory defects, so track may be adjusted tight. However machine never had the top end most on this site appear to have. Also should mention rpm's steady at 10,800.

Curious question on this subject
If I have 2 teeth cut off of the speedometer sensor pickup gear and I am seeing 110 on my speedometer readout, what would the actual mph be? I get this in about 900 to 1000 feet.
Has anyone done a comparison of their gps to the speedometer readout that also has 2 teeth cutoff the speedo gear?

LTX speed
'08 LTX with 5000k miles, running the track really loose, no studs, bone stock, snow-trackers, 110 mph on GPS on a fairly loose railbed. Thinking I should add studs, don't want to change the handling though? I pulled away from a studded '09 CF 800R in pretty good shape after a rolling start. The 13mm sway-bar and snow-trackers made a huge difference in handling, Any recommendations for speed/performance?

You are probably pretty close to dead on.

I had an 06' apex er that i got 126 on the speedo running across cranberry lake.
I have an 07' rtx now it's quicker out of the gates tops 111 speedo . It doesn't have the top end of the er.
rtx has the 22t and er 24t
I just put on a power module .it seems to have smoother power and a little more spunk.

Just how they are or at least were.
Speedo error around 10%.
Odos are right on the money though.

My speedo IS off by 10% vs GPS. If it says 168 kmh on speedo then the GPS will be 151 kmh. Just started running with the GPS & the best I've seen is 164 kmh ( 102.5 mph). This is trail running, on a faster stretch. Last weekend with warm temps & soft trail, the best was 158 km. I simply set the Trip Odom on the GPS & check it at the end of the day, to see what the top speed was. Likely it will do a little faster, but on trails in my area by the time you get running top end you soon are coming on to a corner, so best to slow down!
Track has been loose, & was just tightened up, so it will likely pick up a little top end (if the trails ever harden up, I'll let you know). Sig has my mods, 10,500 km on sled, runs about 10500 rpm..

Mine is a stock 06 ER other then 0w20 oil and 10EK plugs and my max on GPS is 164KM on hard pack, and 172KM on ice radar run. Speedo is not even worth looking at, see 180+.
