Do you have specs and drawings for this setup? Wife's uncle has the same sled. I'll like to see him use this hauler for his ride.

Yazuka...this is gonna sound bizarre, but the thing about me that intrigues me the most about your setup:

It appears you have extra tailgate cables.

I guess you have similar fears as myself and want to avoid the potential of a horrifying collapse under all that weight, especially at the teeter-totter point when you have ALL 750-ish lbs of the entire fluid-filled snow encrusted sled sitting on the very edge of the gate as you tip it into the bed.

What exactly did you do there? It's kind of hard to tell in the pics, but I do see extra supports. It almost looks like a pair of solid steel bars slipped over some studs? Details please! Thanks!

Thanks, I kept modifing it for the sled.
Do these work as good as they say. I haul my sled in the back of my truck about 60% of the time. How heavy is it to lift the rear of the sled and slide it into the truck?? Thanks in advance.

Craze1cars, you betcha I'm afraid too. The bolts holding the cable to the tail light area bent on me. I had to modify it by placing a 1/4" X 1 1/2" X 25 1/2" steel metal bar on both sides plus there's a hole on each side of the tail gate that I can slide a couple of 3/8 dia. X 63"steel rod on each side. With me on the sled plus a full tank of gas, maybe close to 900 pounds. I'll take more pictures of it later.

Morgan, it's easy to lift up cause all the weights up front like a seesaw. Lift up and push right in. I have a couple trailers and I hate chaining them up.

I gotta Chebby too...so my bed is just like yours. Complete with the stressed/bending brackets at the taillamp from frequent sled loading! So I wanna reinforce it with something quick and easy but haven't come up with anything. Truck is at my shop so I can't look at it right now, but I do recall a couple holes in the gate in that location so I can picture exactly what you're talking about with the rods inserted there. Absolutely a brilliant idea and I have every intention of stealing it ASAP...

Some better pictures would be awesome, I'm curious how you attach the bars to the bed on the other end. Thanks!

Hahahaha !Sure......you could steal it por da Chebby :tg:
