Since I already have my sled apart fixing other things, I decided to take out and inspect my rear skid.
I discovered that one of the bolts that hold the bellcrank shaft which connects the center shock to the pivot link had come loose and egged out the hole. So there in lies the problem of fixing this properly.
My buddy and I are thinking perhaps drill it to the next size up (keeping in mind the sliding shaft within the scissor link will also have to be drilled) and install a Heli Coil.
Other sledder forums are suggesting welding it up and re-drilling it or installing a steel plate on the inside of the tunnel and drill 3 holes, one for the bolt and two to secure .
Which option is the best option and will hold up?

If it’s not that bad you can drill it out to the next larger size and re-tap the shaft next size up. Anything larger requires welding.
There is also inserts that are available. Cat has them. They work well. Drill hole out to insert size and use same bolt. Welding or plating is the best way though.

what i have done is use a centre bolt spacer from a suspension shop that fit the origonal bolt and drill the rail to fit its od. then i add a washer to the outside to make sure it clamped in place in the rail. been holding the last 3 seasons with no movement.
Something like this:
