3 full turns that is. Did you only make 3 half turns by any chance? I moved my waste gate actuator arm 3 full turns, I got 15.2 millimeter of threads showing, gained 1 lbs of boost, up from 10 to 11 lbs on the base setting.

Every Wastegate Pod is designed for a specific boost pressure.
With the rod disconnected you should have about 1/4 inch of Preload.
What this means is you have to pull out on the rod 1/4 inch to reach the lever.
Lets say you have a 6 psi wastegate pod, I think you can safely adjust up or down 1 psi.
Beyond that you should consider purchasing the right pod for the boost level you want to run, IF you not a big fan of boost controllers.
I have Been Using Hallman Boost controllers with very good results.
The Hallman Pro give good control and coarse adjustment for up to a little more than double wastegate setting.
The Hallman Pro RX gives excellent control and fine adjustment for up to 5 psi over wastegate, 2 springs are included.
