This conversation came up with the one guy with the ss sm bundle after out riding yesterday. I was asking him for some feedback on the 3 tunes (him first time out after I flashed/set him up)I was thinking about the 270ss but was told it's not very trail able and can forget about any kind of fuel economy, if so than maybe the 240sm makes more sense?
He said he prefers the 240ss in the trail over the 270!
He said the 270ss was too much for him it the trails and actually was nervous when hammering the throttle out of a corner because of the harder acceleration !! We did about 200km and he said he only used the 270 on the lakes and wide open areas

Yes I agree use Qay70 if you are going with the single 240ssDefinitely doesn’t have to run with a CAI!
And I’d use age QAY70 Dalton weights for 240 Tune not the DTYA-1’s. And yes you’d need to replace the stock BOV, and yes you do need the 3 Bar map sensor for the SS Tunes now.
It’s not gonna be Two grand though...but it’ll be a Grand when you’re done.

Surprisingly the 240ss sm pulled the guy with the 240pm of the line and stayed ahead that's what the sm guy said!! But the are many other factors that played into this! The 240ss sm guy was a cat with 24/50 gears and the over was a Yamaha with 21/41. I will see a better comparison at our local races in February! I invited a bunch of customers to join us. Hopefully most of them will show up it will be fun to see every hurricane set go head to headWhat was the on snow difference between the -one guy with the 240 pm flash with stock map sensor and Bov , compared to the other two ?
If my 240 tune is running at 8600 rpms , if I go to the SS 240 , would it appear I could use the same Dalton set up , and be at 8900 +/- ?

No not 2grand!!!What is all required for the 240 SS ? I was told today it has too be run with 3bar,cai,upgraded bov ,dtya-1 weights. Is this so? If so it's over 2g's minimum which I wasnt expecting.
-flash
-Clutch weights
-Bov
-3 barr
You are looking at 1300$ canadian plus tax
Cai is preference I built my own( rocker Dan's design) I like the look of the polished aluminum in the engine compartment!! It looks badass when the hood is off!!

Some good info there Marc...thank you for posting. I can't wait to try out my New SS Tunes and the all new High Performance Clutching along with them. These new SS Tunes sound like the real deal for sure. Next weekend I'll be hitting the snow to try out the new stuff. I'll let you know what the results are....

Question does everyone's volt meter move at idle? Seems odd bouncing around at a idle or is this the boost gauge on a 2020 hurricane tune?

I agree with your friend, my trails are tight and haven't even opened yet in my area, but have been playing in field and woods around my house with ss sm tunes, i think the ss240 sm tune is about perfect for trail, i have been playing with springs and ground dty1 weights down to the 72-73gr area, i have it engaging about 3000rpm so super smooth for just creeping around but it is right now when you hit it, just love how smooth but power is right their when you hit it, i too felt 270 was always pulling on you when goin slow and would wear you out all day unless you have big open trails to run, i think this is the ticket for fun, well done hurricane, can't wait to get a base to hook up better lol

I even ran my smaller header pm ss tune mostly yesterday also!!(last years gas ) My 270 and 300 are ridiculously fast and you need to pay attention if you run either one in tight trails or #*$&@ can go bad fast!!I agree with your friend, my trails are tight and haven't even opened yet in my area, but have been playing in field and woods around my house with ss sm tunes, i think the ss240 sm tune is about perfect for trail, i have been playing with springs and ground dty1 weights down to the 72-73gr area, i have it engaging about 3000rpm so super smooth for just creeping around but it is right now when you hit it, just love how smooth but power is right their when you hit it, i too felt 270 was always pulling on you when goin slow and would wear you out all day unless you have big open trails to run, i think this is the ticket for fun, well done hurricane, can't wait to get a base to hook up better lol
