Guys can anyone help me out with this? I am having Pat’s Yamaha put a Hurricane tune on my 17 SW in a few weeks. I want to keep my exhaust stock. They talked to me about the 225hp tune. Can I do a 240 tune with stock exhaust and clutching? Been looking on Hurricane website under stock exhaust tunes and it looks like the 240 is offered but I want to see if I need anything else additional. Thanks!!

Hey I run the 225/240/270 stock muffler tune bundle from hurricane with cold air intake, bov, and 3 Barr map sensor !! It works awsome
The 240 will need clutch weights for sure! If you are only getting one tune go with 240hp imo

Thanks for the info! I appreciate it. I am going to start off with the 225 tune and keep things stock for now , if I did go for a 240 tune I would just need more weight in the primary? Can I keep the stock exhaust and not need the BOV etc? Sorry for the questions just trying to stay close to stock with a little bump on HP. Can you feel much of a gain with the 225 tune in your experience?Hey I run the 225/240/270 stock muffler tune bundle from hurricane with cold air intake, bov, and 3 Barr map sensor !! It works awsome

You can run the 240hp with just clutch weights!!Thanks for the info! I appreciate it. I couldn't tell you the difference between stock and 225 since I never rode mine stock!!(tuned from new)
I feel a good difference between the 225 and 240! The 240 tune will put a big smile on your face when you squeeze the throttle!!! I run my 240hp mostly on trails

Sweet! Thank you for the advice I appreciate it. I might see if they can just do the 240 and add some clutch weight then. Want a good all around tune and only want to do it once. You can run the 240hp with just clutch weights!!

My friend has the 240 tune he runs the stock helix with the dalton sec spring wrapped at 80. He uses the XS 825 belt. In the primary he runs the stock spring and stock weights with a washer behind the the rivet in the tip. I believe he said it is a 1.5 gram brass one. His sled runs great. Good belt wear so far with a nice engagement. The sled pulls about 8900 and easily walks away from my stocker. I know dalton weights are the standard but the stockers seem good for now at this hp level.

If you just want to do it once then have them give you the dash flash sm bundle. I would never do a single tune if you truly want to do it once, just my opinionSweet! Does the dash flash bundle require a flasher to install and then change from one tune to another, or can you just send in the dash to get the tunes flashed and then just switch tunes with the buttons on the dash.If you just want to do it once then have them give you the dash flash sm bundle. Change the tunes from the dash. I did my friends sled for him with my flasher. Any dealer selling tunes will be able to do it, takes less than 5 minutes for the whole processDoes the dash flash bundle require a flasher to install and then change from one tune to another, or can you just send in the dash to get the tunes flashed and then just switch tunes with the buttons on the dash.

Like stagg said !!! No flasher needed just need a dealer or a buddy with the flasher to flash gauge and tunes into machine!!you get boost # s displayed on gauge alsoChange the tunes from the dash. Thanks for the great info guy's, I'm still looking for a sidewinder, an xtx or btx, something that will trail ride good but still be able to do occasional off trail if my turbo viper is inoperable at the time.
Will be looking at getting the sm tunes as I really like that stealthy jet fighter sound from the stock muffler, add a clutch kit and maybe a 3 bar map sensor and bov if required and ride.

If they would've had the sm tunes and dash flash out when I did mine I probably would've gone that route. Thanks for the great info guy's, I'm still looking for a sidewinder, an xtx or btx, something that will trail ride good but still be able to do occasional off trail if my turbo viper is inoperable at the time.
